Weren't you the biggest McCain supporter? You rallied around the guy and now that he lost you think he's an idiot? It's a bit late to jump on the Ron Paul bandwagon now, bud.

Why does it matter if we fix the economy..

GLOBAL WARMING WILL DESTROY THE PLANET IN 15 YEARS IN 1989... WAIT I MEAN 10 YEARS IN 2009.

But yeah, Obama sucks, getting back to the main topic.

So Obama is having a hard time with the economy, but the fact that it's still going down can't be blamed on him, it's Bush's fault, right? Doesn't it stand to reason then that Bush had a hard time because of Clinton? You probably will never hear that brought up on the beloved liberal news in America though.

    I like d1stort's idea, btw.

Isn't Al Gore who uses the data you posted above a "legitimate source of information", this should show you how much of an imbecile the guy is, how long he has been predicting the end of the world, even with all the idiotic studies that the government and NASA have produced. Try reading up on Ice Core data involving global warming if you want the real truth.

It appears we posted at the same time.

kthx, I was hoping for a legitimate source, you know..something funded by a university or a well established research organization. These are blogs and OpEds. And one was just an advertisement for a book...

I do agree though, banning bon-fires because of global warming is silly. Everyone enjoys a good tree burning!

    I'll help you out, here's a reference:

This website is sponsored by NASA under project ALERT. It won a 2004 Scientific American Web Award, so it would seem that the information is legitimate.

However, if you don't believe that NASA puts out studies that are necessarily true, then you wouldn't want to refer to this website. Oh yeah, and you're probably a conspiracy theorist and everything you say is BS anyway.

No, my point was that global warming doesn't exist because there have been these chemicals entering the atmosphere since before there was civilization.

GW NUTS DON’T HAVE TO WORRY. JUST WAIT FOR THE NEXT VOLCANIC ERUPTION. VOLCANOES SPEW MUCH MORE CO2 THAN HUMANS EVER COULD. I am aware of the recent s...

There is some decent and somewhat funny reading about it. Not all about volcanoes and Co2 but you should read it anyways.

Okay, I'm still looking for a reference. And not a reference regarding Mt. St. Helens specifically, but more along the lines of what kthx said earlier.

His point was that nature itself is contributing more to global warming than man is, that man's contribution to greenhouse gases is actually insignificant to what volcanoes consistently spew out on a regular basis. (For the purposes of argument, I don't consider Mt. St. Helen's eruption regular).

not simply carbon dioxide. it's all attributed greenhouse gases that volcanos release. mt. st. helens released more than all industrial pollution since the beginning of the revolution.

Still haven't found a reference about those volcanoes spewing more CO2 than anything man-made?

And even though Obama is and will fail with his terrible ideas or better yet his handlers ideas, they can always just go back to "Bush just REALLLLLY messed everything up, it wasn't out fault"

lol obama never truly answered a question at any of the presidential debates he aways danced around them. What would make u think that him being a president would change that.

i read obama's speech to the AMA where he discusses his healthcare plan. he referenced the large amounts of "misinformation" out there, and laughed off the "contradiction" of being able to spend all the money yet save money, jobs, etc.

my question: where does he actually discuss this? he never explains himself. he seems to call out his opponents - accusing them of misinformation, etc - yet i never see anything from obama defending his position. i've never read anything showing his explanation of how his plans would not be economically and politically destructive. there is nothing but his shrugs and smirks, but apparently that's enough for the american people.

this is far from the "i will look at every position, and work out compromises" obama of the campaign trail. i thought obama's only saving grace, by the end of the race, was his willingness to be open to different ideas. but, lo - here's another politician with a one-track-mind, hollow gestures and words, and not a goddamn sense of what he is actually doing to this country. but damn... doesn't he sound so good doin it?

people get so caught up because he isn't george w. bush. but i think history will remember him differently - or, more specifically, history will remember him as the liberal version of george bush. bush had his monster fuckups - iraq, patriot act, guantanamo, etc - and obama will have his. bush had his radical partisans, obama has his. at this point i personally have lost hope in it being any different... the only difference will be in what specifically he fucks up - what specific rights he takes, what specific taxes he levies, what specific industries he bubbles up and destroys.
