Maybe you should learn to read better, I wasn't actually discussing the politics of America here, everything I said about not 1 person deserving healthcare more than anyone else, was a general statement, not just about America, so although I get that you are one of the people that thinks that all that exists in the world is America, maybe you should try to keep your ignorance in check. And honestly, if I piss you or kthx, or izor, or exalt, or any of those people off, that just constitutes as a good day. Also, I have never said that I hate America, and just because I don't agree with it's politics doesn't mean I hate it, there are also political issues in the Netherlands that I do not agree with.Originally posted by the_paul View PostGall, we get it, you don't like America. We also don't care. Why discuss the politics of a place you hate when all you're doing is displayng your ignorance and pissing people off?
It's you Americans (not everyone, I know that) that keep bringing the politics of your country up on these forums and then once you know that you cannot exactly defend your stance with solid arguments, all you do is talk about how foreign people talk about your country. If you don't want foreign people discussing your countries politics, keep all this nonsensical babble of a forum on which there are people from all over the world.Last edited by Galleleo; 09-12-2009, 06:46 PM.Maybe God was the first suicide bomber and the Big Bang was his moment of Glory.

when the dollar is dumped and American demand falls and other countries find their currencies rising in value, international production will skew away from America and towards the new demands of countries with newfound purchasing power. in the meantime, we will wake up to see that we are not, in fact, the center of the universe.
(pro tip: invest internationally in companies not focused on importing to America)

lulz. seriously?Originally posted by Jerome Scuggs View PostI was daydreaming about roads and I had a random thought: roads are in fact ridiculously expensive and take up alot of space. Cars do nothing but create pollution. In short, very inefficient... which is why the government runs it.
I think had the country had stuck to principles, the landscape would look so much different. People would have used railroads more (which private companies could and did build), as well as air travel. Less pollution per person, less taxes per person, more useable land... but hot damn, we had to have roads. It seemed like a good idea, at the time.
so what, we should take helicopters? Covered wagons? Trains are alright, but what if you only want to go 15 blocks from home? Not every place is built like Chicago or NYC. What happened to the libertarian view that cars are an extension of personal freedom?Originally posted by ToneWomen who smoke cigarettes are sexy, not repulsive. Interesting point, certainly since your currency seems to go faster towards an equal standing with what is generally referred to as a third world country.Originally posted by kthx View Post1. owning a car is a subset of general property rights. What?Originally posted by Squeezer View Postlulz. seriously?

My supposition is that more places would be like NYC or Chicago had the government not invested balls deep in the road system. Of course, I have no way of knowing.

Because uninsured people ALREADY cost taxpayers millions of dollars. Part of the reason why this is, is because they can't afford preventative care. Then they go to the ER when the situation becomes dire. When they can't afford to pay their astronomical ER bill, guess who foots the bill when they declare bankruptcy?Originally posted by Jerome Scuggs View Post
A question for you: why healthcare?
If there were universal health care, the poor person could see a doctor when he has the flu, instead of going to the ER when he eventually develops pneumonia. Everyone paying to insure everyone would end up saving everyone money. But this is America, and we're greedy, short-sighted motherfuckers.
It also doesn't help that we are so heterogeneous. So when ignorant hillbilly #1 hears that his tax dollars are going to help generic black guy #2 kick his cold, he can't put himself in generic black guy #2's shoes. I truly think if America were all white people we would have had universal health care decades ago (like every other civilized, industrialized country). Sadly, this is not the case.Mr 12 inch wonder

I accidentally messed this post up. I was trying to quote it for the next page, but hit edit instead.
In the post I made fun of Jerome Scuggs for implying that the road system was a mistake.
I also said that Louisiana is full of ignorant people and that the entire south should have been burnt to the ground after the civil war.Last edited by Mattey; 09-14-2009, 01:44 AM.Mr 12 inch wonder

That last one is the only picture that is mine, he's also the only black guy that I saw at the entire march and funny enough, he was just there to sell hats.
All of these are from the retarded tea party march in D.C.
EDIT: I noticed one thing that 90% of the 'marchers' had in common: If the march was any longer than a mile they would have been wheezing and reaching for their ice cream and cokes.Last edited by Mattey; 09-13-2009, 08:54 PM.Mr 12 inch wonder
