  • so I sat down and actually watched glenn beck

jesus christ, when did this state-loving neocon suddenly decide he was an anarchist? it blew my fucking mind, and really made me sad. he referred to "people who believe in the free market" or just "believers", and then started calling the enemy "non-believers". seriously dude?

man, i feel horrible for evoking images of glenn beck as I speak. obviously he's been peeking through a few libertarian books to find something to use against the democrats, veiling it as his new-found opposition to 'those in power'.

can we please just dedicate this thread to trashing this guy in any way, shape, or form? I mean I know he pisses you guys off, but imagine how I feel hearing this man spew kthx shit in the name of "liberty" and free markets". he is a scumbag and I hate him.

He's a blubbering pussy Mormon former drug-addicted cocksucker that uses what's left of his meager brain to spout T0ne-like bullshit under the guise of patriotic libertarianism, while at the same time contradicting his bullshit principles with his opinions on national security, abortion, and the death penalty. Hypocrisy in practice is one thing, but on your principles it means that you're either retarded or a douchefuck populist or both.

According to Joanna Brooks, a scholar of American religion, one pre-eminent philosophical influence on Beck's political ideology has been W. Cleon Skousen (1913–2006).[25] Skousen was an anti-communist, a supporter (though not a member) of the John Birch Society,[26] and limited-government conservative[27] whose works involve a diverse range of subjects (including, for example, the Six-Day War, Mormon eschatology, New World Order conspiracies, and even child rearing).[27] Beck praises Skousen's "words of wisdom" as "divinely inspired", referencing Skousen's The Naked Communist [28] and especially The 5,000 Year Leap (originally published in 1981),[27] which Beck said in 2007 had "changed his life".[27] According to Skousen's nephew, financial and political commentator Mark Skousen, Leap reflects Skousen's "passion for the United States Constitution," which he "felt was inspired by God and the reason behind America’s success as a nation."[29] The book is touted by Beck as "required reading" to understand the current American political landscape and become a "September twelfth person".[27] Beck authored a foreword for the 2008 edition of Leap and Beck's on-air recommendations in 2009 propelled the book to number one in the government category on Amazon for several months.[27][30]

I once saw this ad vid thingy for his theatre show or something and I kinda wanted to watch it cause it looked like it was really funny. Only then not in a 'he makes funny jokes' funny, but a 'look at that retard' funny (al though, if he is legally a retard, then I guess it's kinda wrong to laugh at him).

It is a show, the shock-jock equivalent of Howard Stern. Would anyone know his name if he were not such a fringe element? The fucker makes more money than any of us.
But cool thing about television, you can just change the channel if you don't like something.

conservatives are nearly libertarian in philosophy already, it isn't that much of a leap that he'd change to a label such as anarchist

it's not anarchism jerome. We deduce he MUST be talking about anarchism when he talks as bad as he does about the responsibilities of the US government. He's pulling a Lou Dobbs. Telling everyone fuck the government, and that it's getting too big, thus 100% directly meaning it should be done away with. There is no half-way point with these people. If you tell them you are trying to extend healthcare coverage to americans, they call you a socialist. If you want a real conservatives point of view, one that without an anarchist-liketone, listen to joe scarborough.

Him and Dobbs put on this "my werds r not partisan" tone during their rants. It's amazing, dobbs pegged himself as an independent for a while, and continually reported on the same garbage Fox was reporting. Then later on in the year, lo and behold, he lets us know his views are "justifiably" leaning more to the right.

                            bullshit from bullshitters, what's knew?

i vomited a lil bit when i read this. "Conservatives" are the ones that came up with the Patriot Act. Remember 2000-2008? Or did you just black out?
