last night i installed some drivers for a tablet and i rebooted my pc which had been working fine but it never came back up on the screen this was very weird no bios but my pc did seem to be booting ok just no graphics
anyhow after alot of flaffing about today it seems to be my monitor is dicked as it seems to work fine on my flatemates monitor :/ (same cables and everything only diff is the monitor)... soooo looks like i'll have to get a new monitor
does anyone know things to look out for ? i'd want to get one soon as i'll be without a computer till i get a monitor as i've no back up i can use . Brands to avoid, latency contrast minimums etc would be appreciated , i had a widescreen LCD but i was never truly happy with how it dealt with black gradients as i got alot of banding rather than smooth transition , i use my monitor for movies, t.v. as well as the interweb so i'll be looking for a widescreen , probably a res of 1900:1080 or maybe even 1900:1200. Atm i'm thinking a budget of around £200 but that is more out of my arse than brain as i've not a lot of money floating about.
