Obviously you aren't Christian, so presumably the Bible holds no spiritual value for you. Regardless, it's a pretty dumb thing to say considering how influential the Bible has been. Clearly it's more important than 90% of the things ever written by that simple fact alone. Even if you confine yourself only to literature there have been only a handful of texts anywhere near as important as the Bible, and certainly none more important.

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure that there is a separation between church and state for a reason. I enjoy living in a country that is completely free, so that includes rights for gay people, that includes the free use of contraceptives, that includes the possibility of having an abortion without being shot and what have you.
