    California kids blasted for wearing American flag shirts on Cinco de Mayo

    A handful of California students got an unexpected lesson at their high school this week: Don't wear your stars and stripes on Cinco de Mayo.

    Five Morgan Hill, California students were asked to take off their American flag bandannas and turn their T-shirts inside out after students complained, according to NBC news in San Francisco.



    Many members of Live Oak High School's large Mexican-American student population that felt it was offensive for the students to wear the American flag on a day that's supposed to celebrate Mexican heritage."

    Cinco de mayo isnt even a real fucking holiday. Ask any real Mexican, and by that I mean someone who is from Mexico and has family there, not just anyone Hispanic, and 90% of them think Cinco de Mayo is stupid. It's not even a real holiday in Mexico, their actual Independence Day is June 22 or something like that. Hats off to the kids that wore the Stars and Stripes, thats badass.

        Maybe you should be asking why they would consider the American flag offensive? Like maybe it has something to do with the endless murder and corruption you spread to the rest of the planet?

          lol what a joke...the reason the mexicans can even express themselves in one of their holidays in America is something that the flag symbolizes, and to ban that very same flag is absurd

                    Shows what you know, Cinco de Mayo is not about Independence day at all. The actual independence is September 16th. Cinco de Mayo is about an important victory against the French but is mostly of importance to the Pueblanos (people from the Mexican state of Puebla).

                    Also, it really wouldn't kill you to have some respect for other cultures.

                      I'll definitely relay that message to my best friend, who is from Mexico, has family in Mexico, and goes to school in Mexico. Stop acting like you know anything about cultures in North America, stick to what you know about which is complaining about everything and not wearing deoderant.

                          This has nothing to do with respecting their culture. More people celebrate cinco de mayo in the US than in Mexico. This just shows the diversity and respect Americans share towards each other, but this doesnt mean that to "respect" their culture you can violate basic rights of other citizens.

                            Was that one of the answers for your citizenship test?
                            The fact is when most people on this planet see the American Flag it evokes images of imperial capitalism and dead iraqi children.
                            It's amazing you can ignore all of the corruption and hardships bestowed upon your brethren by the U.S government and defend the very same organisation. Are the shiney cars and nice clothes really worth your honor?

                              If your wore a German flag at a Jewish convention would you get harassed? NO. But if you wore a nazi flag, you would?
