tell us when you need help naming your baby ferretsOriginally posted by paradise!pretty sure the flu is just bacteria found everywhere, just during the winter our immune systems are at its lowest, thus the bacteria aren't exactly killed off.

the only case where you might not be able to get a ferret to stop biting is if you were to adopt an older ferret from a shelter. often times these animals come from an abusive/neglectful environment so they've learned to be a little nasty.
i'd be less concerned with nipping and more worried as to whether or not you're ready for a ferret. they are not your typical pet. they are intensely curious and will get into everything. you literally have to "ferret-proof" your home. you'll want to make sure that a ferret can't get into a dryer vent or up underneath a refridgerator, so on and so forth. you have to be wary of them clawing/chewing up furniture. they love to tear open a hole in the cloth underneath a couch or a chair and then drag all sorts of things from shoes to keys to whatever up into the inside of the furniture. they need vaccinations just like a dog or a cat. they sleep between 15-18 hours a day, but when they are awake they will want to go go go. you have to be prepared to spend time playing with them. they can easily get bored, so they need mental stimulation in addition to physical excercise.
i say all this not to deter you from getting a ferret. they are an absolute blast. i've never had another pet that i can just sit back and watch and get tons of entertainment value. and if you handle them often and train them a bit, they will end up cuddly and can perform a shit ton of tricks. the thing is, they're quite a responsibility. all that fun comes at a price.jasonofabitch loves!!!!
