My brother-in-law isn't persian, he helped my mom with most of the cooking and shit. We usually do persian food as well, but this year we were just like fuck it. We eat persian food everyday, we had kabobs the day before thanksgiving.

my buddy deep fried a turkey. This is the 2nd time I've had deep fried turkey on TG. I don't know why people choose to do it any other way. It's simply the juiciest turkey i've ever had.

I use this contraption --- just as juicy as the oil-fried turkey without the disgusting cleanup or the potential for disaster.

turkey, pumpkin pie, some kind of casserole, a bit 'o leftover meatloaf from the day before, bread and hummus, and lots and lots and lots of bomb ass tea.

afterwards:

collapse onto sofa, play baseelim mindlessly for the next hour. When that hour is up, get more meatloaf, some bread, eat, and return to baseelim mindlessly for the next hour. (rinse and repeat)

this year a few days before thanksgiving my parents asked me to buy a pint of whiskey for them. it was the weirdest conversation ever. i mean it was weird because they're obviously old enough to buy alcohol, and they have never asked me to do anything like that, oh yeah because they have been in alcoholics anonymous for over 30 years each. pavement walked by as they were asking me and thought they were sarcastically trying to tell me that they knew i was buying alcohol for pave and started freaking out. anyways my dad said he just needed it for the ham he was making, and later he gave what was left of the jim beam i bought to my grandfather. which i am pissed about because -I- bought it.
