Look I am not saying all shots are bad but getting for instance a pertussis vaccine after the age of one is sorta pointless because its basically eradicated and the disease itself isn't even that dangerous for kids over the age of one. Like for me being 26 years old I and caring about what sort of food and drugs enter my body I would honestly rather have the damn flu than take the flu shot. You can't tell me that never giving your immune system a challenge is a good thing, I mean there are autoimmune diseases that people get from living too clean of lives. I almost never get sick, I never have, and my kid has never been sick not even one time at 14 months now; but I talk to my friends and they have kids that constantly have something wrong with them whether it be ear infections or something else. So either my genetics has granted me some sort of amazing immune system in which case my kids alright or my lifestyle of letting my body handle shit when I am sick has paid off in which case I am doing the right thing.

You are aware that you aren't even supposed to get the flu shot.

The only people who are recommended to get it are babies, people over 65, and pregnant women. And certain people who are immunocompromised (i.e. if you have AIDS are on chemotherapy, etc).

And the link between the flu shot and GBS has been disproven over and over, but people keep bringing up old and invalid studies as if those are still valid.

Statistically, even during the worst of times, a lot of people didn't get many diseases. Our grandparents grew up in a time with no vaccines, and they didn't all get polio. Population-wise though it makes a huge difference because it adds up. So really if you don't get immunized chances are you probably won't get sick, especially if everyone else around you is immunized and won't be spreading anything around. But stuff still happens often enough and enough people who don't get immunized get serious problems. Meanwhile virtually no one gets any serious side effects from these things. The take home message is, if you're so worried about potential side effects that are infinitesimal, you should actually be more worried about the vastly more likely chance of actually getting sick.

But really it your choice, just like it's Joey's choice to go on an all water diet.

Have you ever done research on the previous h1n1 type strain of flu vaccine that the government ended up admitting did cause GBS in patients? Also, maybe not in Canada but here in America it isn't just targeted to give flu shots towards people who are at risk of dying from the flu its targeted at everyone hence so many stores offering "10% your entire purchase if you receive the flu shot" blah blah blah. Trust me here, where I live there are signs out like "be a hero get a flu shot and save your family" and "don't kill your loved ones get a flu shot".
