  • Good books?

Can someone recomend any good philosophical?
I'm basicly looking for books that are about the meaning of life.
I have reading disorders and a fairly short attention span, so i don't think a 100000 page book will be of use.
But on the other hand i don't want anything comercial, if you know what i mean.
and i prefer something that doesn't have anything to do with Christianity, Judaism, or Islam.

    Thanks in advance,
    - Is

It's not really about the meaning of life but still an interesting read.

I'm sure that I misspelled the author's name too.
I don't believe you did, however Nietzeche is still pretty dismal, in my opinion. Anything involving existentialism is interesting to read about, albeit not what Israel's looking for.

Is, you'll have to be more specific... there are many approaches to the meaning of life. Political... religious... economic... social; there's a lot to cover.

Edit: Just noticed the no religion thing. Gotcha, I'll see if I can dig something up from my European history class notes.

There's a saying "the usefulness of philosophy is not proven but its harm is obvious" =)

You can try reading Confucius, he was a fun guy

Future Shock (can't remember the author) might be good. Old tho and I'm not quite sure if it is actually about philosophy
