I was thinking about designing a map, and I wanted to know where I can find a map editor that shows me an overview of the entire map, as if you were in the arena and held down Alt. BTW, I don't want SSME, since it doesn't do the overview thing. Thanks in advance.

Really?!?! Thank you very much.
Do you or does anyone else know where to get add ons, like other stuff to put into an arena? And how do you create a flag, mobile flag, a ball, and goals?Life always has bumps in the road, but the last time I checked, the path to Mt. Everest wasn't paved.

ah newbie map designers... remind of me, when i was a newbie. so sweet dumb and clueless... well anyway. to create a flag, just select the flag tile in ur tileset and put it wherever u want. if u want flags that u can carry, dont put any flags in your map, and in the arena settings set flag mode to -2... i think (in the description it says "flags can be picked up and carried"). To create a goal, select the goal tile in the tileset and make a goal area. in the arena settings, set the goal mode to anything you'd like. To create a ball, you must edit the number of soccer balls in the arena settings.Hyde:... Government always tries to track people down, screw the U.S. government!

Adding special backgrounds can either be made by making a fly-over or fly-under tile and putting it all over...This kills the fps, but it's easier for people who don't know about lvz. If you want a background that doesn't kill fps, find a picture for the background and download the lvz toolkit. Read the readme's and help files to learn more about how to make the background.

FPS - Frames per second...Basically with low fps, your graphics will be really slow...
LVZ - These are used for custom graphics, sounds, etc. If you want a special background, different ships, or different sounds, you'll probably be using lvz files. Download the lvz toolkit off the Trench Wars website.
If you decide not to put in a custom background, the background will just be the normal stars and what not that are included with Continuum. If you want custom settings for Trench Wars, you'll need to send your map in. The best person to send your map to would be 2dragons(2dragons@trenchwars.org). In your e-mail, specify what changes you want made to the original Trench Wars settings. If the map passes, it will most likely be posted on Trench Wars for you.

screw 2dragons and all the tw staff, i sent there my best maps and i didnt even get replies. if you wanna see ur map in action, go to shanky.com/server and there click on "How to" link. it will tell you how to make your own zone, its super ez and will take about 5 mins. And once you got ur own zone, go nuts and make whatever settings u wantHyde:... Government always tries to track people down, screw the U.S. government!
