In my opinion, Evangelion is overrated. It's good and all, but I still think it's way overrated.

Azumanga Daioh just got licensed, so look for that soon. It's comedy + fanservice all rolled into one!

Love Hina is overrated also. Mahou Tsukai Tai! is about 30 times better.

FLCL anyone? Excel Saga... Puni Puni Poemi... Hmm. I'm not into the whole "big robot" anime thing. I can't stand Gundam. I'm more into funny things, comedy anime, y'know. Plus pretty things like Miyazaki films. The backgrounds in his stuff are phenominal. My absolute favorite ever, though, is Aa My Goddess. (thus my name)

Just cuz you dislike it doesn't make it overrated. If you think it sucks just say it sucks. Don't go insult other people by saying it's overrated.

I liked excel saga, btw. I don't like any of the Gundam series for some reason. Maybe G Gundam but that's it.

No, I'm not insulting other people. Insulting them would be saying things like "HOLY CRAP U LEIK THAT SHOW OMG IT SUCKS U MUST BE A MORON 4 LIEKING IT!!!" I don't think it sucks, either. I am simply saying I think people make it a bigger deal than it really is.

Using the word overrated just seems like you're insulting the people who says it's a good thing, like me. To directly set your opinions without insulting others, do not ever use that word! Use something else like, "wasn't that great, in my opinion" or something. I don't know but that's how it looks to me, no matter what you were really implying.

Go watch Neon Genesis Evangalion and / or RAH XEPHON.

Or Princess Mononoke and / or Spirited Away.

                      Those four are alright.

Some anime has more deeper plots than most oscar winning movies, in my opinion.
Actually I've seen all 4 of those. Decent, not my favorites. I prefer stuff like Escaflowne,Trigun, or the Cowboy Bebop series. I don't know all the obscure shit like Bluedandy does. I've seen some of it from one of my roommates during college (Buckaroo Banzai/Colonel Wuppass) but I don't really seek it out. Also just watched the Cowboy Bebop movie last weekend, pretty good.

Cool. Cowboy Bebop is good series too, in my opinion. The movie- even greater.

I liked the series better, mainly just because the last 2 episodes were so great. The movie had a fair amount of filler in it (like multipe scenes where he just walks around while music plays), but it eventually got itself going and ended up being really enjoyable.

If only they had the series drawn like it was in the movie.

Then the movie would have been a letdown. You gotta one up it for the movies. I don't know, I enjoyed both.

I don't really like the comedy anime, I just don't find them that funny I guess. Like at college the Japanese animation club or whatever, shows anime movies for free on the weekends and I've watched 2 or 3 of them. And the guys watching will be rolling around laughing for 5 minutes and I"m just like "yeah he made a joke that he's been eating the same thing for a week, it's not THAT funny." Those people scare me. Like Buckaroo Banzai, everytime in any movie or tv show where one person hurts another (think for example Sealab2020 when the characters occasionally knock each other out and... yes this has nothing to do with the topic) he'll basically have convulsions he's laughing so hard. I could basically make a movie where one guy hits someone and then kicks him for 2 hours while the guy screams "OOOOH the pain" and he'd die of laughing. So what was this long analogy all about? When I was watching the Cowboy Bebop movie there was a guy with a ponytail sitting in front of me that was laughing constantly throughout the movie so hard I could hardly hear what was happening at times. I just wanted to smack him across the face and knock some sense into him. That was just my little rant about anime fans who annoy me. The same thing happened when I watched Lupin III.

True. What else have you seen?

I've seen Trigun, Great Teacher Onizuka, Excel Saga, Rah Xephon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and a bunch more. I can't remember them all.
