No. That's a great story and all, and I'm sure you believe it, but you are ignorant. Nice try.

Most Western Europeans are Israelites and don't even know it. God said He would erase the memory of Israel's heritage.. and He has. Many European countries are predominately inhabited by select tribes of "the Lost Tribes" of Israel. Joseph (the one who was sold into slavery) had two sons that Jacob blessed as his own. Although Joseph's son Manasseh was the older of the two, Ephraim got the blessing of the firstborn. Ephraim was told that his descendants would become a multitude of nations and that Manasseh would become a great nation. Ephraim was the head tribe of the state of Israel before they were taken over by the Assyrians. The people of Manasseh stayed with Ephraim until it was time for their destiny. Now, looking back 100 years, in Britain, the saying was, 'the sun never sets on the British empire', Ephraim had become a multitude of nations..and out of Ephraim, Manasseh would become a great nation. America is Manasseh's lot.

The point is also not that Bowling is unfair, or lacking in objectivity. The point is far more fundamental: Bowling for Columbine is dishonest. It is fraudulent. To trash Heston, it even uses the audio/video editor to assemble a Heston speech that Heston did not give, and sequences images and carefully highlighted text to spin the viewer's mind to a wrong conclusion. If there is art in this movie, it is this art -- a dishonest art. Moore does not inform his readers: he plays them like a violin.
Way to be so weak minded you can't make your own mind up about subjects. Stupid jerkoffs.
What's different from the spin people like Fox News put on daily events? Shit yes, Columbine is biased, but I'm not exactly as pissed about it as you seem to be. First of all, it's a movie. It's entertainment. He brings up some very poignant issues (and a lot of rhetorical questions) that Joe Sixpack didn't necessarily address before it was released. What's wrong with that? Getting people interested in solving problems?

Secondly, you talk about "trashing" Heston. First of all, he's not a nice guy. I know from personal experience. He's an asshole--I'll trash him right here, in my own words, if you want. Secondly, he's the speaker for the NRA, which historically is a haven for all the "I need an AK-47 because I hunt deer!"-nuts of this country. Third, if you're going to be the public figurehead for any organization, you should choose your words wisely. In this age of technology, people should be aware that anything they say at a public event can come back to bite them in the ass. Heston said some pig-headed shit, and it came back to bite him in the ass. Now how exactly was audio/video editing used to "assemble a Heston speech that Heston did not give"? I didn't see any ILM movie magic there at all. You weren't watching Forrest Gump. It may have showed a speech he gave out of context, but there wasn't any "video trickery." Also, even though Moore was being an asshole nearing the end of his personal interview with Heston, Heston could've handled it better. It made him look like even more of an asshole (which, have I mentioned, he is?). Fact remains, if you're going to head up the public face of an organization that people are bound to not like, be aware that people are going to be constantly gunning for you, and pick your words carefully. "When they pry it from my cold, dead hands" wasn't exactly a boon to his reputation. As much as people didn't like Hillary Rosen and her RIAA henchmen, she was still a good public speaker and didn't get caught in many verbal catch 22's.

Yes, Columbine is biased. You'd be lying to say that it wasn't. However, I don't see anything more wrong with that than Fox News claiming last night that the NE power outage was an act of Al-Qaida. Both are using your emotions as a means to an end. It's not right, but what's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?

There is a division of church and state for a reason. Both are simply too fucked up on their own to function at all if put together. Go look at medieval Europe to see how well it worked.

Political theory is a very interesting subject (why ive taken a couple courses so far), political practice on the other hand .... well id take a course or two in it but im afraid my stomach couldnt handle the pressure.

I personally have a slightly negative view of America. It just seems that the average American is too easily manipulated by the media and their own government. It makes them prone to wild swings in their society from politics to the economy to social values. Also I find that too many Americans are closed minded about the views of others, which is very ironic seeing as the Unitied States is supposedly the "land of the free", ill just add "as long as you agree with the majority".

But hey, here in Canada we arnt much better. We have a crappy government, deteriorating education/health care, and an economy that keeps edging dangerously close to America's. I think the main difference is that we are a little more informed and more open to a wide array of world views. We are also quite content to sit and just watch the rest of the world go to hell, as long as they dont take us with them

I know Bowling for Columbine is biased, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to determain that. However, I would like to know where you got your information about assembling Heston speeches etc.

Hey you pompus, ignoramous dick-whad. God didn't tell you to be an ass on this forum. That was your choice Mr. Taint Scratch. The American populace, or any other nation for that matter is not accurately represented by the government. Can I still be a happy American while my country goes to shit? Hell yes I can you pinhead. After-all, foreskin nibbler, what does the word "blessed" mean? It means happy... penis pollisher, and compared to the rest of the world, snatch rott, the average American lives like a king.... A Sofa King Blessed Patriot. You can thank America for the internet... menstral mouth,.. and a whole hell of a lot of other shit that makes life so much less burdensome. God has blessed America & Americans are truly blessed.

Uhhh... USA is made up from every race/colour/nation whatever on earth, so its pretty dumb to think that the descendants of one person made USA what it is today.

But from the way you wrote that post I'm going to assume that you just made fun of the people who actually believe in that.

HeavenSent, arguing over wheater your god would approve of America or it's people is pointless since most of the people disagreeing with you probably don't believe in one.

Happiness for some, sorrow for others. Not everyone deserves to be blessed/happy.

I was referring to the heritage of the founding fathers and those of the original 13 colonies. Also if the shoe fits, many Western European immigrants. America's first 100 years, the immigrants were predominately from the U.K. It's my opinion that America's decline is due to the influx of non-Western Europeans and the influences of their culture.

It's also my opinion that when you have a tolerant people that allow other cultures which exhibit intolerance to reside and gain power in national politics, soon liberties begin to fade. It's the intolerant in high places that hinder life, liberty and the persuit of happiness. It's the intolerant that seek control and censorship. It's the intolerant that have infiltrated our country and desire to destroy it from within.

It could be if i were to do something about it other than just venting here. My intolerance would be equivalent to the citizens of California and their move to have a recall. It's incompetence which cannot be tolerated.

Don't you see the hipocrasy there, though? By hating a culture or the implications involved with said culture mixing with your own (not to mention the repeated mentioning of "God's Chosen," whatever that means), aren't you walking a particularly dangerous line?

Sounds a bit too Nazi Germany for my taste.
