The Swear Word, why is it bad?

If you think of it, a 'swear word' is just a word. Why are a few of the words in the english language considered wrong to say? Think about it, its just a word, and many of these words have great uses in life. WHY!?!?!?

If you could go around convincing thousands to verbally assault people by using the word Table Scraps, and changing the tone to an offensive manner, maybe one day Table Scraps will be a swear word too.

I asked my Christian friends to try and find something in the bible that says swearing is a sin. All they came up with is some verse about "if you call someone a fool you will burn in the fires of hell"

Which leads back to the idea of "Ow I stubbed my fucking toe". Where it is just a describing word, nothing wrong with it. Just like if I said "Ow I stubbed my darn toe"

Yes, verbally abusing someone w/ fuck and shit and all that other crap, but explaining the extremity of a situation. Using MoG's example....

a.) Ouch, that hurt.
or
b.) Ouch, that fucking hurt.

Which one seems more severe?

Choice B, because of the use of the word 'fucking'.

I believe that the use of these words against an action upon one's self or toward a serious situation, but not in a hurtful manner toward another party or parties, should be allowed.

I find it amusing when people say fuck you... have sex you... yes very offensive Oh and that car is gay! the REAL reason

the swear words you hear today are swear words because in the olden days of talking the "Lower Class" of people would use those words so if you say them you are considered "Lower Class". like a bum asking for money. if you ask for money on the street you are a bum. but give a bum some money like $5 and it feels good.
