  • A good apocalyptic novel

Good Omens Written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

These two people actually did their research, and if anyone knows Terry Pratchett, then you know he's a damned good writer, and funny too.

If you're intelligent at all, I suggest you read this book...it'll give you a new insight on many things.

yeah it's a great book. Word has spread that there's going to be a movie based on this novel, directed by Terry Gilliam.

p.s. changed topic titel to correct spelling of apocalyptic.

Anyone read the book Moskva-Petuski by Jevgenij Jerofejev? Not really apocalyptic, but if assumed that everyone is a world for himself, it gets quite close.

wow, ir eally butchered the spelling

            I took time to make sure I wouldn't butcher Pratchett's name...but look what i did instead:\

Terry Gilliam eh? I still gotta see 1984....i wonder if that held well with the book

here's a link to the amazon site anyway Good Omens

I figured you could just look in a library or something

                  Since we're on the subject of these people, and it gives me a chance to ramble about literature instead of the normal shit on this board;

Good Omens was pretty good as far as biblical humor goes, but I prefer Gaiman's other works, especially Neverwhere (both the BBC series, and the book are good. Whichever you view/read first you'll probably like better.).

And Terry Gilliam is one crack pot director. Though Time Bandits was fun, I still can't rap my brain around Brazil (pronounced Braaaaazziiiiiiiillllllll). I dunno what he smokes when he directs, but hook me up with that shit.

Sergey Lukyanenko owned your Yevgeniy Yerofeyev (which is the correct spelling btw)

has that happened yet mog?:-p yes, it's fiction...to some, it's science fiction

I don't know if the authors are christian or what, but i can say this...there's only 1 reference to Jesus Christ, but his actual name is said probably a grand total of 3 times.

I'm with wadi, although I most prefer Sandman/American Gods. I really do love that guy, though. Also, I disliked Brazil, mostly because the dream sequences were far too long.

umm what I meant by fiction or non fiction is if its meant as the story of what is actually supposed to happen and tell about it. Or if its a story of "some kids in the future going into the end of the world, finally discovering their true sexuality".

I read a book by a Christian writer Hal Lindsey called "Apocalypse Code". It was describing what the end times will be like from a Christian perspective. It had a lot about decoding parts of the bible that relate to what is supposed to happen, mainly Revolations.

If it only mentions Jesus once, then its probably from the perspective of a non-christian. I think you should check out the one I meantioned up there, if you can find it. It was pretty good and actually pretty scary.
