It's not so much a matter of mistyping as it is not caring about the proper spelling and use of words. There's a difference.

It's than, not then; another extraordinarily common mistake. Grammar and spelling are important in presentation whether you want to believe it or not.

That's pretty interesting Fallen. Definitely easily readable. But when I read normal sentences, my eyes scan across the line hitting only a few places. Reading your rscheearch rpeort, my eyes scanned across, then back to re-scan, forward, then back a little. If you try to read it at normal speed, you end of doing double-takes. If you slow down and scan every 1-2 words you can read it pretty easily.

I'm sure when you posted you were expecting us to dissect it and go off into English teacher tirades, right.

One of my elementary schools teachers (maybe 3rd grade) didn't think that "than" was a word. My mom had told me to use than in something I wrote, but when I gave it to my teacher she said something to the effect of "'than' isn't a word, you want 'then' " It took me about 4 years until I realized my teacher was just a complete moron.

I agree with Zeus that it's a little bit different of a case for people who aren't native English-speakers... I can understand that. But for people who are, you have no excuse. The Internet is already a bastion of people who use "u" in place of "you" and "ur" in place of "you're" and "your." (There's a huge problem right there--"your" has a completely different meaning from "you're") That's unfortunate.

For the reader's sake, just take a little bit of pride in what you're writing. If it's that important for you to get your point across, make sure it's actually legible. That's all I'm saying.

I could not have said it better myself. I mean, is it really THAT much more effort to type "you" instead of "u" and make yourself seem much more respectable at the same time? Whenever someone says "u" either on the forums or in the game, I think of a complete moron saying "yeeeewww ooooor steeeeeewpid", pronounced just so. It annoys the bejesus out of me.
