Where do you stand on the topic of fat people trying to pass the bill that will put them (overweight people) on the Americans With Disabilities Act? I heard about it while skimming the Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn show so I did a quick search in Google. I decided to just put 2 links up here for space sake.What are your opinions, thoughts, comments on the situation? Also, not to be mean but (taken from the second link)-

the key difference here is that a person can't change their race, color, or age. gender can be changed, but that's a whole other issue and irrelevant in comparison to obesity. religion is a non-factor since united states law proclaims a separation of church and state (although quite often, it doesn't seem that way... especially with politicians playing upon their christian backgrounds as a means to gain support during election time and other situations requiring extra political sway).

obesity is something that CAN be changed. even when genetics are concerned, weight can be lost. obesity is a choice, and those who choose to live an obese lifestyle (or choose to not correct their obesity problems) should expect to suffer hardships in their lives besides the obvious health implications. sure, it's not fair. yes, it sucks for them. but it's not a problem the rest of the world can fix for them... that duty is up to the obese person alone. and if they choose to remain obese and are too overweight to work a job, then there are still plenty of work-at-home opportunities available that they can do (stuffing envelopes, telemarketing, etc).

As far as fat people are concerned.. there are fat people who can't control it, but I don't think it's very common. Why is the US so much fatter than every other country? because we're fucking lazy, not because genetics makes us that way. Go visit europe or asia and count how many hugely obese people you see.
