OMGAH I'M IGNORANT BECAUSE I'M AN OLD ASIAN LADY

I love it when you correct my spelling instead of actually replying.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

If I called you a cracker, will you be offended?
If I called you a bitch, will you be offended?

EVERYTHING is how you perceive of it.

When I say the word, "Gas" and just that word, everybody will look at it differently. Some may look at it as the fuel you put into your car. Some may look at it as fart from your ass.

Same thing goes with the word Cracker. Some people will see it as a type of edible food which comes in packages. Other people will see it as a racial slur towards whites. These people are racist. Other, non racial people, will see it as an edible food.

          THINK ABOUT IT.

When I hear Cracker, I immediately think Barrel. And then I get an urge for some homestyle mashed potatoes and pot roast.

True racism exists because we created it, but that's true with anything else related to humans in general. Except God, some would say. Racism is a bigger issue than it should be. Meaning, people shouldn't be racist.

On second thought, I won't. It's all apart of " the man's " plan to keep us down. To keep us too busy " thinking" so we won't be able to spread the revolution. Fuck you and " the man", fight the power. FIGHT THE POWAH.

(For all the ignorant fucks that didn't get it , that was a joke, and in no way a racist flame/paranoia post to Magi. Now that you all realize that, you can take your pillow cases off of your heads and put the burning crosses down.)

                    My Thoughts

Even though this discussion remains the deciding factor as to what is racial and what is not in the subspace community, I believe it is pointless, for it will only bring controversy. However, I will contribute, and give off as much as I know about racism, and what I think of it.
I definitely think that everyone is racist to a certain extent. When someone acknowledges another for being different, they are in fact racist. This will never be abolished, no matter how long we "fight" for our "rights". I truly think that the way the media and everyone supporting it supresses racism is the only way to go.
The general public doesn't understand, Magi, that these racial slurs are sometimes for fun, or sometimes strictly direct, and offensive. For example, you take a fun loving, outgoing caucasian (I am only choosing this race, for I am one and can relate completely), and put him beside an uneducated individual of opposite race, who immediately reflexes negatively toward any racial slur, thinking it is strictly offensive. These MISUNDERSTANDINGS will go on forever. I believe that one way to go, the hard way, is to stick by your principles, and act accordingly. If you dignify yourself as proper, and respectful, then demonstrate this by presenting yourself as an accepting individual among other races, respecting them as you would your own. If you do not however, feel free to show your true emotions, and cease to supress them. I strongly advise, that in our unfortunate world, the majority believes that racism is bad, and that abolishing it (impossible) will solve everyone's problem. This is of course mankind's only potential way to rid the world of annoyances, such as gang fights and petty disturbances, or sometimes mass death.
In the end, the fact remains that we are all different, and the only way for this to be ridden, is for each and everyone of us to personally say to ourselves: "I really, do NOT care, even though the media and popular opinion states that people are racist out there, and that incidents occur, bad karma circulates, all due to racism, I will at least hopefully start a generation of indifference", because we all know this generation hasn't yet arrived. I'm hoping it will in the near future, in fact I'm predicting it will.
At the moment, the world is full of people who grew up with racism, one or another, they have had close people in their past, who have implemented bad images of racism. An analogy fitting for this discussion may be how a poisonous virus circulates through the body. Does the virus ever simply stop, and disappear? No, it takes time for it to be cleansed of the system. The new generation of the world is hopefully more clever, and due to the devious media, planting the idea that racism is bad, we might get over it artificially, if not, naturally. But only with time shall we tell. Until then, feel free to reply

Before I leave to go to sleep, let me say that everything I said was complete sarcasm in order to stir up an argument for fun . I am not racist. I have freinds who are black, asian, and hispanic and they are all good people. But I do agree that people only make racism an issue, and it really isn't anything that substantial to get all huffy about.

I'm sorry, but that is the biggest piece of crap I've read on these forums. It's like blaming a rape victim for dressing in sexy clothing. Or if some think that is too extreme an example, like punching someone and blaming them for being in pain.

What you are forgetting Magi is context. The examples you are using of racism in a joking context is one thing, but that is not the only occurance of it. While the current attitude of jumping on any racial term spoken in TW as racism is over-reactive, those same issues cannot be so easily dismissed.

Under your model, an ideal world is one where people can say racist comments without anyone taking offence. I propose that a better world is one in which there is not a need for anyone to say anything racist at all.

I am a racist. But I am one of those nice, harmless, sympathetic racist. I think magi is trying to get at the "implication" of racism and racist words, etc etc. Since not all forms of racism are considered oppressing. For more information go here:

edit: I know i say i'm not a racist in that thread, but what i really meant to say, i'm not an INTENTIONAL racist.

There's a fine line between RAPE, PAIN, AND RACISM. WHAT LINE IS THAT YOU ASK, MAGI KOZ? RAPE and PAIN involve PHYSICAL association. RACISM... all in words. A MENTAL THING.

A better world where there is not a need for anyone to say anything racist at all? By how? By oppressing our speech? For a better world, we must NOT say something- other than a world where we're free to SAY ANYTHING WE WANT without anyone being offended by it?

Comparable to hitler who wanted a master race to dominate the whole world. In this world of hitler is the only thing I can see your world coming true, Troll. I mean, who needs to use racial words when everybody in the world is the same race as you? Weird.

Being racist is somewhat similar to calling people names. In fact, it IS the same thing. But with racial slurs, we define people by where they're from or what they look like. Calling people names is the same way. Calling someone a cracker and calling the same person "a twig" is all the same kind of insult. The only difference is instead of insulting one with a term that defines their race, we insulted someone by defining their weight. Weird again. How we insult people by calling them an exaggerated metaphor of what they really are.

Have you ever heard of punishing a kid for sneaking out of the house and going to a place you told them not to go? Punishing them by grounding them. Do they learn their lesson? Most of the time, No. MOST OF THE TIME. They will only TRY harder. That's the only lesson they will learn. What I'm trying to imply is, by oppressing what we say, you create that NEED to say it.

So let us say what we want! And if there are people who are offended, they should get with the time and learn that racism will only exist as long as they keep their prejudice against people who openly use this racism.

And this is not comparable to murder or anything like that. There is an obviously huge difference between the two things. Murdering is inhuman. Defining "cracker" as a racial slur is just plain stupidity.

SO STOP CREATING RACISM IN A GROUP OF LETTERS. YOU TAKE THE MEANING OUT OF A WORD, IT BECOMES NOTHING BY A GROUP OF LETTERS.
