My friend and I went to an earlier showing, no RotK trailer there. But after the previews, the projectionist turned on the sound and theater lights, but the film itself wasn't running. So we jumped ship to the other theater showing it, and they had the trailer there. Lucky us.

Special effects were awesome, plot was great, I liked the ending, but not enough was explained as to the actual fate of the Matrix.

I just saw the film and had great satisfaction in finally working out all the things that made no sense from film 1 and 2. You guys probably didn't enjoy it because you are a big bunch of fucking retards who are pig shit stupid.

Battle in Zion was all good fun.

yeah i saw this flick and i agree with what i thik beez said. it doesn't meet my expectations from the first one but after seeing the second and altering what i expect from the wachowski brothers it was fairly fulfilling. i give it 2.5 stars (1.5 because the first matrix kicked ass and .5 star for somewhat answering my questions and another .5 star for the zion battle and that beginning battle that was reminiscent of matrix 1).

i'd like to say that the smith/neo fight at the end was cheesy. they'd hit each other like 5 times and each time shit would just explode for no reason (not to say the explosions weren't cool but they got old). the battle of zion was cool like everyone else said so that was a plus. and, despite what i've heard most people say, i thought the ending was suiting. i wish they could have brought some closure to the side-story of the merovingian though...they just kinda dropped that. and now that i think about it, the only real reason they put the merovingian in the trilogy at all was to suck up screen time. think about, the keymaker was pretty pointless they could have totally written that out of the second one and as for the third the trainman wasn't really necessary either. i'm not saying they should have taken it out i'm just saying they should actually do something with it in the trilogy rather than take up time.

it's definitely worth a watch but all i can say now is this: return of the king will be the shit $$$$

I have been avoiding this thread for the past week because I know you fuckas will spoil it. So I finally watched it yesterday, but the air conditioner in Silvercity was broken, and it was so damn hot. When we finished the movie, they gave us free passes for next time. WOOT

                    EDIT: Movie was great

Anyone else think that Asian captain guy was the most hardcore motherfucker in that whole Zion army? Holy shit he was badass, even when he was getting cut the fuck up from the sentinals. And Seraph was pretty badass also. For some reason I thought he was going to die in Revolutions..
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

Also avoided this thread until after I saw the movie. I generally don't even like watching trailers until after the movie.

I liked the movie overall but it definitely left much to be desired. It was defintely the weakest of the three.

                          Spoilers below.

how about all those biblical references eh?
The machine love/human love motif was way shoved down the throat and overdone. Same with the biblical references. I guess they figured the average moviegoer is too dense to "get" anything less? Both those ideas could have added an additional level of interesting things to discuss with people over lunch but they pretty much killed it.

I was also disappointed by the lack of an interesting resolution. One of the things I liked the most about Matrix I and II (and Star Wars II) was the discussion after the movie- of what happened, what do you think is going to happen, theories, etc. Some of the theories that my friends came up with were SO much more interesting than the way 3 ended.

I think what made the first movie so much better was it's mystique. That whole "what is the matrix" thing really had people thinking, even about their own lives and reality. It really caught people by surprise and was really good, so good that they couldn't follow it up.

It's all good because it was just something to tide me and my friends over until mid December.

they probably overcrammed the references because too many people missed the whole point of the movies. it's difficult to make a legitimate action-filled philosophical movie when you have people who only watch for "omgz like cool special fx d00d!!!@#!#!".

revolutions was my least favorite of the trilogy. the whole trainman segment (despite the obvious reference to charron and the river styx) was completely out of sync with the themes set in the rest of the movie, and the interesting speeches were cut to a minimum in favor of hyping up the fight scenes. that said, i did rather enjoy the king arthur twist on the ending.

revolutions is still a good movie, but their biggest fault was trying to appeal to too many audiences at one time. either keep it philosophically-rich or turn it into another triple-x. if you try to do both, it will fall short for both.

I have a feeling that a lot was cut out of the film to make it a bit shorter. The film was pretty long as it is and maybe they will bring out and extended version on DVD like they do with all the LOTR films. That or they will make another Animatrix type thing to fill in all the gaps.

                                1) What happened to the Marovingian guy, the scene cut from guns at heads and you never see him again (Cut footage?)
                                2) When Agent smith goes to get the oracle some of him goes and corners Seraph and that little girl but the next time you see them is the end of the movie all fine and well (More cut footage?)

Theres lots more aswell i can only assume we will find out what the hell went on when the DVD comes out?
