Metroid? I bought that the other day and thought it sucked :/

I also have PS2 and GameCube, I think PS2 is the best.

Parasite eve is so old school i bought it at a yard sale for $3 and beat it in a day. As for Parasite eve 2 its a little harder and i had to spend an extra $2 which was lame as hell

How can you say hardware doesn't matter? I have numerous friends who's PS2's take like 5 tries just to load a game (and there arn't any scratches on it) I have friends who say there games freeze every once and a while.. for me thats annoying.

I remember getting far on SSX3 for PS2 and it freezing. With X-BOX I played SSX3 for 5 hours no problem. I think hardware does matter because it makes the games run smoother, better, faster.

X-BOX hasn't even been out that long and I think they have many games that compare to PS2's selection. Blockbuster isn't exactly the best place to view all of X-BOX's releases and games. Try their site, they have some upcoming releases that even suprise me.

Even with PS1 games and PS2 games combine I think with all the companys X-BOX is working with in the future they will start to have better games.

You can't replace favorites on any system of course. I could say Mario64, GoldenEye007 for N64 owns many games for PS2. But those are personal favorites.

In the end the hardware does matter, I can't see SSX3 being run on Super Nintendo, no matter how much you love the system. The point is the system can handle much more, which enables the designers of the games to goto unseen limits.

Good programmers know how to use what they are given and I'm sure through time there will be some crazy games where people have actually spent time on programming and put time into the game.

You and I both know there have been games that look like crap even though the system could produce a much more clearer picture, and much more details in the characters and scenery.

Blood Sometimes I just swing by my friend's house after class to hang out and see what he's doing. Normally we play some Tiger Wood's golf or just watch TV, but he was so hyped up about Final Fantasy X2; so I came over to check it out. He's also in the process of coding his own RPG with graphics comparable to a PS1 game and wanted my opinion on the game's characteristics.

And yes I normally dont have a lot going on, I would have thought that was obvious given how much time I spend in this game

Hardware DOESN'T matter. What difference in quality in terms of graphics and sound is so negligible at this point. I mean, if you prefer Madden 2004 on X-box over the PS2 version because "the helmets have more reflections" then you're really nitpicking. In the end, the games matter a lot more than the hardware does, but at least a 60% to 40% margin.

The point about running SSX3 on SNES is pointless, because we are comparing consoles of this generation. If you wish to enter the SNES into the comparison, then you've obviously run out of more relevent arguments. If you don't believe me, then let me offer the argument that Final Fantasy X won't run on Windows 3.1 to show how silly your point was.

X-box might have some good games coming up "in the future", but don't forget; the next generation of gaming systems is coming up really quick. Even if X-box produces a line-up of games superior to the PS2's and Gamecube's line-ups, it wouldn't really matter much. It's like a boxer winning the last round of a boxing match but losing all the ones before it.

I have an X-Box and it is very nice. It all depends on what games you want to play, after alot of research I went for better graphics and halo.

I know what your saying and I agree that hardware doesn't matter to a certain extent. But just like you said if your going to compare games of this generation, why not have the best for the same price? Why not have MADDEN as you say to load faster, with clearer scenery.. and apart from all the gaming lets compare one simple thing.. DVD speed.. X-BOX is 5x, PS2 is 4x.. so lets just say I want my DVD's loading & rewinding faster.. well I got you beat there. Anyways, if I'm going to choose a system I prefer the best out at that time.

Think about, sure PS3 may be coming out.. but look how much catching up they have to do in their hardware section while X-BOX may not even need to come out with anything new for the next couple of years which allows them to concentrate more on the games. PS3 I gauruntee won't have the power that the X-BOX does.

I, and everyone i know who has/had a ps2, haven't had any problems with them at all... unless they buy a used game which is scratched or something, for a few bucks. But i stand by my statement... Hardware doesn't matter much beyond the controller. And the xBox's terrible controller and extremely high price (last time i checked) and the lack of selection, is why i wouldn't want one. PS2 and N64 forever

The only system in the past 5-8 years, that i've ever had problems with as far as hardware, was Dreamcast... but it did have some cool games and nice features like the memory card with the screen on it.
