i'm going to see death from above this weekend to take a break from studying and my shitty exam schedule. they're playing with the forms, should i know who they are?

edit: house of jealous lovers is probably my least favourite track off the rapture's latest album, but i still give it the grade A castro seal of approval.

eh it was alright. the rapture arent my thing, ive decided. i didnt really like echoes that much, but since everyone gave the band so much hype, i figured their live show was why. they had a enough energy, but i really dont like the songs that are primarily synth. i was hoping maybe theyd take the synths out of the live show, but they didnt. also, nobody danced at all, since people in dc dont dance (see the dismemberment plans "doing the standing still")... id have been happy if the show was 10 bucks like a normal indie show, but 14? wtf???

yeah, people in toronto don't dance either. i swear dancing is either a myth or reserved primarily for basement shows with a small circle of friends numbering between six and eight.

i really like that el guapo band, but i don't imagine they'd be too great live. perhaps i'm wrong. the main reason i dig them is that they have that song 'justin destroyer' and it's totally about triceratops. q and not u is another of my favourite bands but i saw them play at this really shitty ghetto all ages place and it was pretty much the worst show ever.
