Actually if you've ever studied history you'd know differently. Psychologically it has a massive effect on the rebellions taking place in Iraq, and will have a huge effect on the amount of resistance or whatever you want to call it in Iraq.

Rebel force were NOT fighting for Saddam, in fact, I do not think many Iraqis liked Saddam anyways. They were fighting for their 'freedom' because from their point of view their country has been 'occupied' by foreign troops.

Now Saddem is captured, there seems to be 1 less reason for US troops to stay in Iraq ... from Iraqi's point of view.

i never said it was an evil plot making bush look good. i do use my common sense and i know more about iraq and the current situation than most people. when i said propaganda i didn't mean that they just made up that they caught saddam or some shit. what i mean is that it doesn't really change anything in iraq, we are still there. thus it's only a political win for bush over saddam (whom he and his father hate because he started cutting into the oil business back in the gulf war). even if this is a new discovery (us finding him) it is blown out of proportion to make bush look triumphant over big bad hussein.

most of what you hear on the tv and radio is littered with assumptions, slants, and opinions. it is propaganda because it elevates bush even more in the unpopular post-war era.

on a less cynical note, i'm glad we got the bastard...even though i'm afraid there are much worse bastards in iraq and all over the world for that matter.
