    Who said anything about Hussein?

Personally I don't think his capture will stop the attacks on coalition troops, if anything they will intensify like they did after the Uday (and is brother which I can't remember his name) incident

Just two pieces of propaganda from me:

      1) Just in time for re-election, sounds pretty damned well timed to me.

      2) Isn't it odd how we can find him, but we can't find any of these "weapons of mass destruction"?

As much is its nice to think of it as a publicity stunt, you can't just catch the world's most wanted man then sit on him for 6 months. Plus if they did why would they show him off now? The election's some time in the new year. Also one kind of leads on to the other, the plan is to find Saddam and then beat him up until he tells us where the WOMD are

Ok, WOMD are how big and how many? How many people does it take to run a nuclear missile silo? Granted spotting mercedes benz's rolling up on baghdad might not be hard I would still think that you would be able to spot 1000 square foot silo's much easier then finding a 6 foot tall fat man.

              No, because Saddam exists.

I heard they found the weapons of mass destruction in a hidden bunker on the Neverland ranch.

I was going to post something regarding those Oliver Stone types commenting on the timing of the capture, but Zeus already addressed it well. Those commenting on this being timed for the next election have been spending too much time with Spinsanity. Besides, if you did follow that line of reasoning, then yes, the Republicans must have desperately needed to do this right now in order to counteract the HUGE groundswell of pro-Democrat news that news that Al Gore is throwing his support to Howard Dean.

Anyone notice that the pictures of Saddam since the capture, ragged and grubby as he looks, still don't look as weird as Nick Nolte's mug shot?

We had no reason to attack in the first place. They were fictious lies to give us a reason to get Saddam.

You can't seriously believe that. I mean if you're intelligent enough to figure out how to use a computer and get to the forum you should be able to realize just how impossible and improbable it would be. Seriously just because you're a democrat and hate Bush (I assume) you don't have to think everything the government does is some kind of massive evil plot to make Bush look good, use your common sense.

I didn't support the war before it started and I am still skeptical. That said, if the US pulled out of Iraq now, there would be chaos in Iraq and millions would die in the ensuing civil war.

Capturing Hussein changes nothing militarily. I'm pretty sure the current resistance in Iraq consists of nationalists afraid of American exploitation, fueled and aided by Islamic fundamentalists. This is purely a political "victory" for Bush.
