It's called soccer over here bub. And any reason that any american doesn't like soccer is usually unjustifiable, and it's really because everyone on the team has to actually be skilled to play.

Why the freak would they stage that? Don't say publicity because they were genuinely freaked out when it happened. And the FCC's on their tail, they wouldn't stage that kind of thing. Although it was cut pretty quickly.

Under federal law, minors under 18 are prohibited from possessing guns and minor under 21 are prohibited from purchasing guns from dealers. However, unless regulated by state law, minors 18 and over are able to freely purchase weapons through private sales. Currently 21 states either prohibit or substantially regulate this secondary market for minors.

and as far as "thousands of reasons not to like football (guessing you mean soccer)", really there's just one reason it's not wildly popular here. it doesn't have a longtime national history, unlike baseball, football, and basketball. even hockey has terrible ratings here, and people actually fistfight in that game.

Janet Jackson bares breast during Superbowl, sparking TV viewer outrage

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Singer Janet Jackson set off a furor during Sunday's nationally broadcast Superbowl show when she bared her breast during a half-time song and dance routine with pop star Justin Timberlake.


At the end of a song titled "Rock Your Body" Jackson allowed Timberlake to rip away the leather cup covering her breast, as they sang: "Gonna have you naked by the end of this song," exposing a bosom to some 100 million viewers.


The moment was made even more memorable -- and shocking to some -- because Jackson's breast was adorned with a sun-shaped metal ring that pierced the nipple.


CBS television, which broadcast the American football championship in Houston -- one of the most watched television programs of the year in the United States -- apologized for the incident in a statement late Sunday.


"CBS deeply regrets the incident that occurred during the Super Bowl halftime show," the network said after the CBS switchboard was flooded with angry phone calls.


"We attended all rehearsals during the week, and there was no indication any such thing would happen."


"We would like to apologize to anyone who was offended," said CBS.


Both performers were reported as saying the flash of skin was unintentional.


But at January 28 story on MTV's Web site promised "shocking moments" during Jackson's performance.


MTV, which produced the halftime show, is owned by Viacom, CBS' parent company.


The National Football League issued a statement saying the show would likely be the last for the Superbowl produced by MTV.


"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced halftime show," the NFL wrote.


"They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the show. It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime."
