Not exactly, I speak 14 dialects $$$. Yeah, I think Taiwanese people actually speak Traditional Chinese, for prenoucation guides they use characters :/ and some characters have a few extra lines. Simplied uses TEXT :-) for prenoucation.

It's an asian thing really, it adds expression to the sentence, u can do without it, but if you talked in chinese or whatever, they would say it in speech. It's natural.
