Picking in ?go base

Viral, im not a baser. I can spider well enough if needed but i stick to wb and occasionally javing. Yet out of the 4 or 5 times going to ?go base, i've played at least 2 or 3 times.

Maybe you should try playing base when less players are on, you'll have a much better chance of being picked, and if you show some skill you may get noticed.

Just play the game for the fun of it, stop worrying about all this picking stuff. Who cares, just play. IF you dont get picked, so what? go somewhere else or go do something else but play ss.

BLeeN: That's the whole point, every game I make a point of picking a few newbies, and every time we proceed to lose, and usually I know that if I hadn't picked the newbies, we'd win. It's not that I've given up the newbie picking because of it, but it kinda gets annoying after a while.

If I pick newbies at all, I try to pick people that I think would come back to the arena and play again. I never pick people with names like "gohan13123" or crap like that.

yeah i only pick them after ive seen them in spec alot

I find if I dont get picked, I wont get picked in that session.
But if I get picked once and continue to play, I will continue to get picked say 4 times in a row. But that usually happens at night when there are only 20 or so people. (like last night)

Though I agree with the original post for the most part, I have to say that if you stick it out long enough you will start to get picked. Granted, I don't play close to every game now, but I'm becoming a familiar name with many of the players and will normally get picked one out of every three or four games as a spid or shark. A few days ago they even gave me a shot at terr even though I had never done it in base because our cap saw me in pure pub. It just takes some patience. I try not to spam too much and if I don't get picked, I simply go to pure pub and work on my skills. I'm not saying that's the best way to do things, but it's worked for me thus far.
