There are three typs of players:

1. Normal players, who never even think of being racist
2. Racists, who don't care to get banned over what they believe in
3. Rebels, immature people that need a guiding hand and are looking up the borders. (Mostly teenagers, that also rebel against their parents)

The first two, you will have no trouble with. The real racist will just use his slurs and get banned and won't return. (I don't think I ever seen a real racist in TW)
The third party on the other hand is the group that is giving trouble. They are always busy moving into the grey area. Since racism is all about emotions, stigmatized words and history, it's not always possible to entirely justify a warning/ban. But since, most of the time, those border cases are the result of the third party, staff can't do anything but warn/ban.
It's obvious these children need guidance. They are looking for the limits and we should make very clear that there is no use rebelling against authority.
One day they have to go into the real world, and since we have more contact with them than their own parents, we have to show them that you can't disrespect the people around you based on race, nationality, sex, sexual preferences or religion.
Discussion about racism will go on forever worldwide, and we shouldn't be afraid to discuss it with the ignorant either.

The question you have to ask is "why was he using the name?" As far as the literal meaning of the word is concerned, Cracker isn't that cool a name. I doubt you'd see fireballz running around using the name Biscuit. Baked goods don't make interesting Subspace names, so odds are, the reason he liked the name is because of the other meaning. However, what I still don't understand is why the entire Subspace community is allowed to run around saying faggot this and faggot that, in the worst possible contexts, but some guy named Cracker gets banned instantly. I think, if anything, the strictness on the racism poilcy could be relaxed a little bit, but it should be expanded to include all hate against any groups of people (countries, homosexuals, etc). It turned into a joke, but the reason Richard Creager "came out" as gay was due to a discussion about the fact that no TW players have come out as gay, so he decided he'd do it, even though he's not gay. Considering 1/10th of the population is gay, one would think the odds would be there are some gay Subspace players, and having everyone say fag every three seconds probably doesn't make them feel comfortable.

just to tell, England wasnt lanching bombs at citizens and city centers of dense population but in 10 of may 1940, when churchill was proclamed prime-minister they broke this "rule".
