- The name stuff is solveable by using a bot and getting people to !submit email. The bot will record their email, the name they submitted with, and the IP and other ID-able info. After one year you can move to a new biller. You put all those names and emails in a spreadsheet, and you code something that analysis that spreadsheet data and mass creates 500 accounts under those emails and sends a password out. I know it's a lot of work, but it ensures everyone gets 1 main name and one year of work beats 8 years of nothing and a slowly dying game as a result.
- That being said you're all missing the huge benefits to moving to AS3 and having our own biller, I would easily sacrifice my name for those benefits in a heart beat, and maybe some people who want fresh starts would too.
Anyway it is a lot of work, all I can suggest is people do it slowly over time. Beats doing nothing... if you start now then in 2 years we could move.
Lets rephrase, there are a lot of cons to moving, but those cons are solvable and disappear. Once you move you are left with the pros list only. As it stands right now the cons probably outweigh the pros because the pros aren't even active until you get through a wall of cons. But that's sort of what we'll have to do eventually, we need to plan for this now, start now... you don't even know if Priitk will continue hosting or how long the biller will be alive for. And you're already running into biller issues with Pro league zone and an inability to whitelist new zones. This is foreshadowing the games death unless you take things into your own hands.
I would say minimally start preparing names for a new biller, and make an AS3 trench wars test server, so if TW goes down you already have 90% of the work done.
Plus maybe mass emailing and saying if you want to keep your name then login and submit info, will also bring some old players back around.
