PEGASiS I have also noted in your simple minded post that, you say "It blocks the machine or ip, not sure which, but thats irrelavent... the important thing is that switching nics won't do anything". And once again, since Im a nice guy, I will clear this up, so you can sleep tonight. It blocks what ever internet protocol (IP) that you are using at that moment and time after you have tried to many passwords. Now since every ethernet card (Nic) has a unique "mac address", it enables you to bypass this so called "blocking" of your IP. To put this in a more simple perspective, if you have 20 nic cards, your going to have 20 different IP's. And if they dont change right away, then you can simply goto start -> Run -> cmd ... type in ipconfig /all. This will display every information about connected and disconnected ethernets. You will notice there is a lease obtained and lease expired. Now you need to do ipconfig /release. Next step is to do ipconfig /renew. You will notice now your lease obtained will be the time and date that you did the ipconfig/ release command, and the lease obtained will be exactly 1 hour later. So in one hour, your new ip will come in through the dns. I hope you have learned many things today PEGASiS. Im sure you probably got lost several times up there, and you know what, thats ok bud. Just continue playing space ships, and if you have a problem, just let me know.

Wadi, I will give you a reason behind why I have 2 nics. I have 2 computers in my family. I have my own personal one, and my mother has one that she uses for work. Now how would you connect those 2 computers together using only 1 connection without a router? The answer is simple. You build a bridge between the 2 computers. And I know your thinking "but a bridge is used to allow mass transportation over water and such" and thats ok, ur name is Wadi <ZH>. I dont expect much out of you. When I say bridge, I mean an internet bridge between 2 computers. My computer has 1 nic for the internet connection, and the other nic is what connects my moms computer, to mine. Allowing both computers at the same time to get on the world wide web. But, this wont work using just 2 regular old ethernet cables. One is fine to use for ur cable modem to your computer, but a crossover is needed, if you want the bridge to work for the other computer. Because a crossover allows data to be transfered between the 2 of them. Wadi <ZH>, I hope I have answered your earlier question, since you could not come up with a conclusion your self. Now knock them dead tiger. Have fun you space cadet, and get back to answering those help calls!3x TWLD All-Star
