Nope. They change names regularly to evade it. They also can still ?message you. They can get you via twchat too unless you also ignore that bot.
A good proxy for how shit ?ignore is is the number of times I have to update my ignore list thread. Tends to be that ignore becomes ineffective roughly weekly.
?ignore evading happens all the time and when I report it staff does nothing.

So to play devil's advocate, what good is this new rule going to do? I'll admit, proving that ?ignore is evaded can be a bitch, but if staff is ignoring this rule, who cares about enacting a new rule? Changing names to evade ?ignore and send messages was something I automatically looked into and banned for, regularly. As long as it can be proven. If it couldn't, I just usually threatened whoever it was and it stopped.

I haven't played the game in several years, so I have no idea if what Rab said is true about staff not doing anything, but if that is the case, then this new rule isn't going to do anything but increase the number of help calls.
