Alright alright, I can understand some of the answers here but some are just rediculous. First off I think one of the best sharking duos EVER was a long time ago back when i was good and basing was new and people still lined

Now listen, I am definitely not giving myself any sort of immense praise on the way I play NOW but back when Annux Enterprises was around, Annux and me were pretty elite. Annux sat back and played defense, I came out and dropped mines and attacked terrier. Now, it was a different style of playing back then, none of this cram bullshit But we were pretty damn good.

I think back in the day.... hannes and zippi! sharked together on WF I can't remember exactly. They were good.

Even Cig Smoke and Me recently on Tanked (before we got shafted by L to the K for a twlb spot) had some good play together.

I think Hellkite is one of the most underrated sharks playing. I'm not just saying that cuz he's been on Tanked and now Distinct with me but he seriously knows how to play and he's just smart. Just plain money.

I could mention all of the hot players right now and shit but its not my style. I'm still living in the past when this game was still fun.

Ya annux has always been a good shark when u mine, him and evasive did well back int he day together. but in the craming times u only need 2 sharks who can time together and whoa re actiive and practice together alot. Someone like Stabwound i consider a great shark nowdays, but i think if u'd put him with pubnewb#1 for a twlb game he couldnt carry the way someone like a2m could. Simply bc a2m would mine and keep them out himself.

a2m: ya we rocked together bc of our style. We had the aggresive ass spiders/terr to go with u who mined it up hardcore in FR battles, then i was always layd back and played safe Good times, we made a good pair.

Now that i think of it, me/CC also did well when i was on pirates, now CC rarely sharks but man we did wel bc of how agresive he was and how patient i was, much like me/a2m. (by cc i mean Crazy Canockout)

Ev: cripz will never be revived, 1st off Wix ran away with the name and quit ss =( and even if i could somehow make him crawl out of his little hole where he lives (i probably could) we'd have a hellish time getting all of them ppl back. I mean u seen the last 2 times cripples were revived, each time weaker and weaker with less old cripz on them.

Best shark I've ever seen was the Great White in the movie Jaws.

What I find intriguing about these 'Best' posts are how people justify their opinions. Some folks consider 'old school' vet players, some use pub and/or ?go Base players, some weigh defensive cram skills while others draw an opinion based upon a players teamwork.

But then we get to watch as people begin to criticize not only who was selected, but the poster's justification for reaching his/her opinion. I might disagree with someone who says, "Player XYZ is the best shark, but many people don't know this because he was always playing drunk." or "Player XYZ is the best shark, but he only played 2 games this year because he always over-slept." but what value is it for anyone to be critical of these opinions?
They all are simply opinions, subjective notions, personal judgments and beliefs. Everyone is 'allowed' or entitled to have their own opinions, particularly in a highly subjective post regarding the "best" of something. None of us should feel threatened by this and, in fact, we should be encouraging the differences of opinion. It epitomizes stupidity to be critical of every little niggling justification of someone else's opinion in this type of thread. Simply acknowledge and move on.

I agree with most of what Eph said. These are indeed purely subjective opinions (hell, there's no way to make an objective approximation who's the best in a game where there are more indicators of skill than mere points). However, it's the argumentation that really makes these threads worth it (providing they don't pop up more than once per season ). I'm not interested in reading post after post of brookus (even though he's damn good, all props to him), Mitch, warportal, Mythrandir litanies in the "Best terr" -thread. Instead, I'm interested to know what aspects of their gameplay make them stand out to the degree to get consistently viewed as top5 terr(or shark/spid/jav).
In this case for brookus it would be his dumb luck/crazy dodging skillz/good positioning that allows him to run through 3spids and a jav without a scratch. Myth, on a good day, counts as an extra spid for his team and still makes reasonably safe drops (heck, how safe drops can you make when you're the first dude to rush for the flag). Same would go for all other ships. I'd say it's safe to assume that there are dozens of spids/sharks/javs of comparable skill level. Some selected few, however, got some attributes that make them stand head and shoulders over the rest. Be it always making the shot when it counts or being able to simultaneously calculate (or visualize) multiple rep angles.
So, to sum it up. I'm not at all interested who's better than X, not even why Y is better than X, but what makes Y such a good [insert ship here] that he deserves to be mentioned as top[insert number here] [insert ship here]. Peace.

back to the topic, yes, these threads are getting kinda stupid. It turned from a thread for people posting who they think are the best shark to a thread with like 2345345 BasingCrew people constantly arguing how good Musashi is.

People tend to forget basing itself is still a team game. You can't do shit if you don't have a group of people that knows how to team around you. Regardless if you are the best shark or the best terr.

yeah, he had double vision for awhile so he couldnt shark. had surgery and pretty much went mega afk. saw him a few days ago- he's fine but he probably got out of the ss addiction
