Hello. While we let this zone waste away I was thinking - in a game that is mostly doomed what can we do to help it survive. This is my idea, apologize if it has been proposed before.
My idea is that individuals are allowed to sign-up as individuals or in pairs. The rest is very flexible.
The premise of this is to try and get people to recruit people who have fallen away from the game to play with them.
Ideally it would be like Zapata reaching out to meganewbie or Stayon playing with kess, clark bringing back ricko, or myself and freespirit. You get the point. To even out the teams it could be run as a hat tournament - pairing better and worse pilots together, or it could be run as a draft tournament (would have to be star cap).
There is no pressure for this to be some sort of league it could be one week or one month whatever. So a team of say Mythril/Racka would have much less skilled players like riverside to play with.
I think having a partner that you signed up with would get more people to feel like they should show-up and would have the highest likelihood of bringing people back to the game. A trench wars league is not feasible.
I don't really like cash incentives for this game but I would rather they be spent on things like most improved player or bringing back someone who ends up playing/contributing to activity in zone rather than paying out people who play for the fun of the game already.
It would be worthwhile to give people who return lower ratings than what they are though of before - yes this may make teams less fair but the goal should be to increase activity and if they come back and are active than more power to them.
