  • Can we get pub back on track?

    Not sure why we can't buy attachmode anymore and why the spawns arent fixed when it's less than 6 people playing. Lanc is also OP and Lev is Underpowered but those are minor issues by comparison. Hate to see Pub so dead lately. Anything I can do to help?

    I swear I fixed this months ago. I just never got round to check if it actually did. There's something funky going on with the attachmode trigger so I've bound it to a bot command for now. If it's not on but you want it on, find your nearest smod and tell them to PM tw-pubsystem with !attachmode on

      This arena is used by about 4 people, it should be the simplest to maintain not one of the most complicated. Simplify the fuck out of it.

        can an adult update us on what is going on?? last i heard some new devs were fixing spookedones mess and now it seems worse than ever. is this it for pub?

          your sentiment is awful as it is erroneous, rab. spend time in pub and ull see a constant stream of people who seem like old players coming to check out game after however many years. pub doesnt have to be dead this way. game doesnt have to die. emotionally draining having to witness the state its in atm. fix spawn points. change levi settings. gear it towards being more competitive, less trolling. there was a period of a few months after attachmode was fixed earlier this year where pub was active a few nights a week, 8v8+, etc. wasnt an accident. if work had been done to continue to nurture competitive environment it would have continued then grown. 4-5 years ago was the time but its not too late.

              all of this because a handful of dudes refuse to give out power to people who actually play the game

              if u havent logged in a month and ur the only one who can fix stuff then delegate and let us at least try to get stuff done

              no point sitting on the throne of a dead game, move along

                I agree completely. I've been asking to be a mod for years now.. No luck.

                  amazing that we can track the death of this game. keep it up admins, ur killing it

                  early 2025 was still OK, about 100 players. then sharp decline when yall fucked everything up with the broken maps and ship settings, and then we've lost about 5-10 players per months, down to 60 players. that trend is fucked, soon it will be ZERO

                    9/10 times I log in and pub is empty. Fix spawnpoints and turn on attachmode permanently. Spawning far from base and not having a quick way in kills momentum and causes people to exit.

                        Thanks for pushing on this one.

                        I set up attach mode to default to on for now. Staff can still disable it for larger games. The buy for it isn't currently working, as it won't toggle off. Somewhere in our many layers of code from hundreds of hands, something is interacting in unexpected ways.

                        Also set midpop spawn back to ON for everyone, regardless of if they're on a private freq or holding the flag. The intention behind this change was to give the attacking freq more of a chance, but the result with very small games was players in a 2v2 would just get dropped into deep spawn. It's a bad experience and doesn't make you want to keep playing when you've got to spend 30 seconds just flying back to the base. Also means that the holding team is severely disadvantaged, especially with a small game.

                        As far as ship changes are concerned, those are more complicated, and people tend not to agree on them. Can evaluate from here.

                        Please continue to post issues. I haven't been able to be around as much lately, but am going to try to help out a bit with dev again this summer, especially with pub. I'm pubtrash at heart.
