I didn't start at the top so i'm quite capable of making the comparison, not even the newbie teams I started at had so many clan-hoppers, but then again a subspace squad has alot more people in it than a counterstrike clan. But the point of this post was that I wanted to find out how all the other squads were because I find this society alot different than the other ones.

I agree with Blood to the extent that you are comparing apples to oranges. The dynamics of CS/AQ2 are entirely different from those of SubSpace. Clans are virtually always much smaller than squads. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's a lot easier to start up a squad than it is a clan. When you have a lot of people on a squad roster, there's no way everyone is always going to be happy. Given the sheer number of squads out there, why hang around somewhere when you're not happy? And taking that further, being that it's very easy to start your own squad (Please note that I'm not necessarily saying all startup squads end up being successful.), you could go down that road as well.

And as a few others mentioned, don't judge a book by it's cover. The core of the SubSpace community is pretty damn sweet. (Well, except for those SVS assholes, but who cares about them?) I've made tons of friends on this game whom I know I could meet up with in real life and have a damn good time. In my opinion, the SubSpace community is a much more personal, tight knit community as compared to most other games. And I think that's awesome.

Even the people in the game i disliked gave an added element...i wanted to kill them so damn much <shakes fist> This was the most addicitve game i have ever played due to squad rivals.

U said ur team mates whined..so do u. Ur horse died, go find a new one and u might win a few races.

Subspace has a two-tier community. The first tier is people who play in pubs, newer players, etc. They generally have played the game for less than a year. Then there's the seasoned veterans who play in the more specialized arenas like ?go base or even ?go javs. The veterans pretty much all know each other to one extent or another, due to the fact that it's been the same people playing for a long time.

In other games, the communities are usually younger. They also usually die out in about a year or so, unless the game has great mod capability (Half-Life). As stated earlier, comparing game communities to other game communities is like comparing apples to oranges - each one has distinct traits and their own "vibe."

But TW people move around a lot. that's the way it works and the way it has worked since i can remember. Sure you always find loyal people in some squads. I could name a bunch, but the majority of players in TW like change and move around getting new experiences. There's 3 facets to TW anyways. I've been in squads that specialize in different things. Nothing i'm really saying here is defending TW or whatever, it's just explainging how things are.
