I just found out pub was more of a whining arena then elim. I play 7 minutes of pub and I get sick of it. From one guy pming me with newb because I ate a shot or another for killing him with one burst calling that lame. Pub is repulsive nowadays.

My only beef with elim, are the hiders, as for the pm's and whiny people in pub, thats what ?ignore is for
"Rockets are still available for purchase in safes."
I know, but that's a hassle. This is the least bad of the changes made, but still bad.
"Being visible to one more ship 100% of the time should prompt you to watch your back. Half the reason I fly weasel so much is that I enjoy dueling other cloakers."
To me, cloaker duels are the definition of lame. If I wanted to duel, I'd fly a warbird! It was way, way, more fun when you had to guess where they were and hope to catch them recharging or the ever so fun wait for the flag to change color and blast them. Before, there was a lot of intrigue with the cloaker vs cloaker matchup. Now it's just flying around fighting basically like any other ship. It really ruins their uniqueness. If you fly around in a cloaker, the idea is that you sneak up on people not have to answer to five enemy cloakers that all want to duel you.
Also, I stand by my statement that cloakers are way too powerful as they are now. It's just way to easy to nail ships now. Even terrs have a hard time countering x's. So now we have this:
x's counter the **** out of the following ships (note, they have no chance really now that cloakers are so fast)
WB's
miners
spiders
lancs
levs in spawn zones or anytime the x knows where they are
x's are about even with or have a slight advantage over:
javs
x's are only slightly countered by:
terrs (it's easy to run away from them, dodge, their bullets, and slip through the cracks. It's even fairly easy to kill them or suicide them)
x's are well countered by:
-levs when they are shooting from long range. (they counter any ship)
-stray shots (these also counter any ship)
-leviterrs. (these also counter any ship when they have a decent pilot)
Anyway, x's are way too overpowered. This is coming from someone who's played as an x for over a year.
Does anyone here who actually had a lot of experience with cloakers before the change actually agree with the change??? I would be pretty surprised if the majority of xers agreed with these changes.
I agree with all the changes, from back when the weasel was the same size as the other ships till now.
When it was a large ship, it was a novelty ship. Something you would play when the rest of the zone didnt base. ie: 1 wb in flag room. Useful for killing levs in spawn.
Small ship: still a novelty ship. Recharge rate and speed didnt make it viable (for me) to play around flag room battles. With little energy you would get hit by anything, and have to hide, only to get hit by something else, and hide. Killing other weasels wasnt a matter of skill, it was luck catching them with their cloak down. Most of the time i got x'ed as an x was because of this. (other times it was because we were fighting over ther flag, only so many places you can hide when the flag switches to the other team)
Now I feel i dont even have to cloak 100% of the time. Only the most accurate/lucky warbirds will hit me, spiders will still hit me with random shots, lancs will shotgun me every time, levs will kill me when their shot hits the wall half a screen away, javs will hit the walls next to me, terrs will fly circles around me (and not hit anything), and i get to kill those sharks that like to mine the entrance (that our terrs ALWAYS ram into)
I find the ship to be a lot more fun to play. I can get to the flag room faster, i can recover from a terr shot faster (which means they have to actually be better at hitting me), and i can be viable at taking out the other teams' weasels. In a race i will still not be able to catch up to anything other than the lev. The only wb's i was able to kill consistently were those camping holes in the base, usually on the roof.
The new weasel has all the capabilities of the old weasel, and then some. I suspect that you will probably see more of them, and thats not a bad thing. If i wanted to fight a subset of ships, id play ?go base or elim.
I miss spawning with the rocket, but I'll survive. I don't mind the changes, and don't think it's overpowered. It's a better ship for people that want to play it overall, as opposed to playing it to kill a specific target.
i don't get the claims of overpowered. Sounds to me a whole lot like sour grapes.
