seems that the levs other than being the red headed step children of ss get a bad rep from everyone except ppl who fly them. over the course of my ss time the lev has undergone some changes some good some bad .

remember 3 reps and a port right at spawn then no reps and a rocket change change change (here's 1 :let levs buy x-radar) i personally luv lt'ng its a blast and you dont need a private freq if you get a smart terr and lev combo as far as the pubs only having 25 ppl well that beats the hell out of 8 ppl but remember 25 ppl in a pub means if your on a pub freq you can have up to 13 victims at a time "GOOD HUNTING" :greedy:

I was thinking as well, people whine about having no defence against Weasels, since they cloak, but it's easy when you're part of a team.

Half of the ships have X-Radar and can check it, good teams tell you there's a Weasel about.

But there is NOTHING you can do about a Levi bomb. If you're recharging, you can't warp, which is about the only defence. The area of effect outranges Repels. LevTerr's are difficult to hunt. There is no real defence against them.

Make them their own ship.

As people have said, basing could become so much more diverse if we didn't NEED pure pubs, because everything fitted in.

There should be no need to exclude a ship. This zone primarily focuses on basing, am I wrong? Why aren't the ships all geared to base?

Yes we duel Warbirds, we duel javs, but they have their own respective part to play in basing, as does every other ship but Levi.

I'm typing this at work and just putting what comes into my head so I'm potentially going to think "wtf was I saying" later :S

Imo, pubs are for fun, lt gives u a diffrerent option..Rather than basing and dueling in spawn u could hunt an lt or be an lt urself.

A pub is a free for all, but now its directed in one direction..basing, u dont get the choice u used to.

Why do none of you consider defending the OUTSIDE of base (roofers, LTs) being a part of basing? LTs are easy to combat, all you need is a spider with antiwarp in the base and a team of two warbirds patrolling the outside, just like you would when you have roofers... it's not that hard.

If Levis were in purepub, it should be limited to 1 levi per team, that way you wouldn't have to worry about huge bombardment and if you kill the Levi/LT, you'd have a pretty good respite to reform your defense. And I think the Levi was always meant to be the trump card, because if you could ever get the Levi to the area of the base (actually flying, not attaching) or actually get it to the safe to attach without being killed in the spawn area a dozen times, you deserve to weild that kind of power because you worked pretty hard to get in a position to use it.

That type of shit just isn't wanted in the pure pubs. If you want to fuck with someone, go to a lower pub. Frankly, I don't give a shit if you want to LT in the pure pubs. There's a reason the pure pubs almost always have 30+ people, and that's because basing was made FUN again by those pubs. People can base without worrying about POT$MOKER6969 and LiL_AzN_GaNg$tA1987 fucking with them by bombing the flagroom from outside. If you get your kicks from ruining everyone else's experience, more power to you. Enjoy playing in pub 47 with the rest of the halfwits.

I'm perfectly calm. But what you're essentially telling me and every other pure pubber is "run away from the problem instead of fixing it". The problem has been fixed, and other than the assholes who like to disrupt basing, everyone seems to be happy with it. Pub is indeed a place to have fun, but if your fun comes at the expense of everyone else's fun, you don't have any right to be in pure pubs in the first place.

Bottom line, the pure pubs are there to keep dickhead LT's out, and 90% of TW's respectable pubbers go straight to a pure pub as soon as they connect. The assholes have been relegated to the lower pubs because people don't like them fucking up basing. Deal with it.

What if they want to use them strategically and defend, or pound the flagroom so that their team can get it when before the levi showed up, the team trying to get the flag was getting pounded? Those people aren't assholes, and it's a cop out to get those people banned too, because now you are saying all the assholes are in lower pubs, so now the people who want to use levis without disrupting the game can't have fun.

You're asking about a nonexistent group of people. With its current settings, the Levi CANNOT be used as a viable basing ship.

Let me give you a real-world example of something similar to this. Let's say you have a neighbor who likes to play his stereo really loud while the rest of the neighborhood is trying to sleep. After a while you and your neighbors get sick of his shit and call the cops. He's eventually forced to move somewhere else. Some time down the road he files a request to let him return to the neighborhood, while still possessing that stereo and threatening to play it at a high volume again.

So what would you do? Sit by and let him keep you up all hours of the night? Fuck no. If I were you, I would fight to keep him from doing that shit. But according to your logic, maybe playing his stereo at a high volume keeps the planets in alignment and creates peace and harmony among mankind or something retarded like that. I don't agree with what you're saying at all. The only ones in favor of bringing Levis back to pure pub that have spoken up about it are assholes that just want to bomb from outside.

Levis are not coming back to pure pubs. Get on with your lives and just keep littering pub 57 with pretty blue bombs. Levi-free pubbing is the greatest thing to ever happen to TW, and they're not going to change it to satisfy the few LT aficionados that want the pure pubs gone.

You speak as if I hate pure pub and only play with levis. I don't, I pretty much only play pure pub when 'm not playing in events or ?go base, if 'm playing at all. However with your example that you gave you forget the option of a compromise. Request that the neighbor turn down the music during the hours of the night, which would in effect if he is not an asshole, smooth out the situation. That said, the people who can use levis in the proper confinements of basing, are those molded from the compromise. They can still play how they want and they don't harm anyone else. A levi can be a factor in basing, because hell, look at all other MMO games, from RPGs to FPS, they don't eleiminate their heavy weapons like warriors and rocket launchers from the game just because they do heavy damage, no, they fine tune them within the game to either have low ammo and be slow and the like. A single levi can take out the flagroom, that's true, which you say makes pure basing not fun, which I disagree, because just as a single levi can take out a flagroom, a single warbird can easily take out that levi. Pure base is all about teamwork, and frankly, levis need to rely on their team to be effective, so doesn't that actually make levis good for basing which is a team oriented affair?
