I know I am not alone in my quest for getting a high bounty in pubs, regardless of the ship. There are, however, countless obstacles, frustrations, and questions of ethics that come to mind while attempting such feats (or trying to destroy others' attempts, if you like). So, if you like Bounty Hunting, read on.
First off, let's talk about ethics. If you've ever had 400 bounty in a warbird flying across open space then seen a flash of bright light appears over your ship, you know what I'm talking about.
The problem is: Where do you draw the line?
Is cloaking someone to death who has no x-radar (or no potential of getting it) unethical? Or is it just a matter of the lesser of two evil's? In reality, it's perfectly within the limits of the game. Of course, Subspace survives on it's player community and it's interactions with one another, so unlike abusing a tactic in a single player game to defeat a CPU to achieve your goals, you subsequently ruin someone else's fun.
One could argue "that's the point of trying to get alot of bounty", but look at Bounty Races between friends. You each get onto the same frequency (usually in a warbird) and it's a race to 100 bounty. More than one person can attempt to achieve a high bounty without interfering with the other, and since most people, when pubbing, aren't after that same goal, it's perfectly viable.
The inherent problem is that people are sadistic, pissed off due to in-game or real world events, and enjoy ruining other people's shit. But that doesn't mean you can't do it with a bit of dignity, and in all honestly, you'll feel better doing it the right way, too.
This is, of course, under the pretention that you don't have friends or squadmates willing to help you out. It's fair to say that any group of 2 or more individuals working together to achieve high bounty for one of their party's group is fair game to any ship or tactic, as two ships can overlap their strengths and their weaknesses to counter any lame, unethical methods of assassination (LT, for example).
I won't go through the list of everything that could potentially be lame, but suffice to say that instead of cloaking some guy with 300 bounty in a wb, take a wb yourself or whatnot. If he runs, threaten to cloak him. At least you gave him a fair chance before slaughtering the fool.
Now, in terms of the best ways to achieve bounty in each ship, I'm going to start off with the Warbird, and anyone else interested can add suggestions for it and create their own for the other ships as well.
If what you post is good, I'll add it to the collection. Also, let's get your thoughts on Bounty Hunting and the ethics of it all, as well as some story's if you have any worth telling.
