tk i am just gonna have to disagree with you. under the settings i proposed the weasel still does have cloak and stealth, mind you.. and it is also able to get through 1 tile holes with more ease. it also has 1500 to 2000 energy. i simply took away its ability to lame people with ease who cant see it.

And you wonder why I keep saying you're not addressing opposing arguments? Every time someone says something you can't refute, you just say you disagree and then restate your position.

But since you want change so badly, I'll humour you and look at your proposal. The one thing missing from your proposed changes is the recharge rate and the rate of energy drain from cloaking. Your goal is obviously to make it so that weasels have to uncloak to fire. Under your changes, you have to be careful in setting the recharge and drain rates. If it takes too long a time between uncloaking and getting enough energy to fire then you're gimping the ship too much. If you're looking at it in a basing perspective, they need the energy mangement in order to be able to sneak into the flag room, uncloak, and then fire, without having to wait too long to recharge before firing. At the same time, if the time difference is too short that won't appease your concerns.

I think a better common ground would be if cloaking did not drain energy but stealth did. You'd still be able to "see" it before it fired by watching your radar but it'll still be invisible on your screen. I think this would make stealth more useful in helping weasels survive on their way to the base than it would help them use stealth to hunt ships in the spawn area; it would be more of a mode of travel than a weapon, as it were.

TK is right, maybe ZA if you came around with a suggestion like HIS(which is good, unlike your constant bitching about "laming") people wouldn't think so lowly of you and Tone. But basically still, all you want is for EVERY ship to be able to see the Weasel, which when the game was made long ago, every ship WASN'T meant to see the Weasel. As TK said, you truly want to gimp the ship for your own purposes and the purposes of those who can't not complain about being killed by a Weasel.

He uses the ship pretty regularly, so it's obvious he doesn't have TOO much of a problem with it. I think Tone and gophar both need to just realize that everyone's going to play the game differently and just stop trying to cripple a ship that isn't even a problem.

And that's it. I'm talking about making substantial discussions about things, and all you ever have to say is "i'm just going to have to disagree" or "sounds good to me". You seem to be more interested in roiling up issues than actually discussing them. All the passion in the numerous threads about how big a problem this is, but when people actually try to discuss them you're reduced to five word replies. I know you have opinions, but for gawd's sake, at least discuss them.

after all, being invisible is such a crazy thing that even weasel with cloak on energy drain twice the speed of jav drain with X radar on would still be controversial to have in the game, let alone the way it is now

they were way bad before i ever made the first post about them on the forum. i caught the spec cheaters, thats not who im talking about. all X is a major problem, and the cloakers infest this forum too as we can all see. keep recruiting into your gang of X spec hunters, maybe the problem will get so bad they will be made fair and balanced
