Subspace Tips

hey, thought it wud be an idea for everyone to share their best tips for playin in subspace

mine is:

when downloading a large arena and u want to read text that has just gone out of sight. do not press ESC to see the text... instead type ?lines=25 or some large number so that all the lines appear on your screen. this will allow u to see your text without disconnecting from the zone!
just remember to type ?lines=x (x being a smaller number) when your done so u can see what your doing..

the best tip i can give is if you wanna be great then you have to be good at a lot of things. play other zones, play pubs, competitive arenas, and different ships. this will give you a great fundamental base and you will have a sense of how to excell in many situations.

Yeah, if you push alt-tab, it will continue to download the arena, but you will have the "good" chat interface.

Oh, and for a Subspace tip... Hmm... I guess, realize that the radar is square and that your screen is rectangle (For those that like trying to radar shoot).

Pick 1280x960 resolution over 1280x1024. 1280x1024 isn't 4:3.

• Do not bomb or mine the entrance on attack. It results in TKs, people get pissed, you get reported, it's very messy. I won't go into it.
• Clean up your bad mines by changing ship and then changing back to shark. Simple, yes, but you'd be suprised how many idiots don't understand you when you tell them to reset.
• For every shot, there is a countershot. Learn where to make them from and you will be a better player for it.
• Shrapnel is void from less than roughly two ship lengths away.
• Scared of cloakers? Hide in a cramped space and turn your sound way up.
• In pub flag rooms, the safest place to be is underneath the bar above the flag. The chance you will be hit by a burst from outside flag room while at this position is nigh on impossible.
• You play better when drunk. It's a proven fact.

Press Up, Down, Left, Right, A, B, C, Start to activate Blood Mode.

Know your ship. This should be fairly obvious.

Know your enemy's ship. This way, you know what the enemy is capable of.

The team frequency is there for a reason. Use it.

Pick 1280x960 resolution over 1280x1024. 1280x1024 isn't 4:3.

Too bad the tube-bombing from terr while attacking base pretty much requires sharks to use the few extra pixels the geometrically twisted image gives.

I'd love to see TW restricted to a 4:3 reso (ie 1280x960).
