TW in IRCnet

This idea has been around several times, has been done and
forgotten.. let's try again?
I'll keep the #TW channel open in IRCNet (IRC server),
everyone is welcomed. I personally keep IRC open all the time
and so do a lot of people, this could be a handy way of
communicating outside continuum and these forums, if some
people need it...

So, use an IRC client ( for example mIRC and connect to
an IRCnet server, then /join #tw )

A Trench Wars IRC channel is a colossal waste of time and energy. SubSpace/Continuum already has a rather elaborate chat system. Why do we need more?

Very slightly off-topic

That's quite useful if you want to chat to SS people but you're not on a Windows computer. Ideally for myself in that situation, I'd like to chat inside SS itself instead of in an IRC room really, but that's not possible as far as I know. Snrrrrubspace kept getting kicked off for me.

I really wouldn't mind a chat only client that could be ported to other OSes

It's a wonderful idea... BUt.. why put the channel on IRCnet ??! ... i'm always on Undernet and i'm sure the majority here are on it too.. so why not move the channel on Undernet ? Well if not.. i wont be able to come :P i dont like to have 2-3 servers open just for 1 channel

i dont see what the problem is, almost all irc chat clients support multiple servers within that specific client, how is that an inconvience for you? On that note, i still think it should be on Efnet, so i can show off and shove a big botnet in there

1) ss irc channels are completely fucking redundant, thus they never last

2) any net other than efnet is for clueless newbies or annoying euros (stop flooding in caps you fucking norwegians.)
