I'm nearly sure this has been posted before, but I would like to reopen the issue. Why did the javelin lose it's x radar? Javelin's are great roofing tools, and the fact that they have lost their x radar basically leaves them defensless against enemy cloakers. I don't see how cloakers were being overpowered when the jav had x radar, because very few javelins were running around spawn hunting them. I realize I sound like a newb, and a moron, but i'm tired and it's finals week, so skip that part, and let's discuss.

I think the reasoning was that it would get more people out of the ship. It hasn't done anything for javlin numbers because people love their bombs, even if they're not blue. In all I think upper staff was trying way too hard to keep the weasel settings and failed focus on the entire game... just trying to keep new additions (which in them selves never encouraged or made basing better in my opinion) and piece everything around that.

I think there's enough staff members who care about publics so I think something that would help is forming a group or committee for the public system. Holding votes for changes, getting more experienced opinions and opening up debates and getting player opinions... Edit: We also could invite players to take part in it, Troll King, PH, Sarien and some others, Smods involved in this could invite more...

Pertaining to the 'getting people out of jav' point, removing x radar never even had a chance of working to preform this task. No one uses javelin to hunt for cloakers, they use terr, and now lanc. I think the settings need to go back to the way they were 2 years ago (keep the new lancaster though,) this includes repel's for levi's, big cloaker, and all the other things that have been changed.

Yea, in the PURE PUB'S, but why should all of the Trench War's public settings be designed for 2 pubs?

My idea was already rejected by Upper staff today, the settings are still theirs to deal with and they're "not open to debate".

This forum is useless for disccussing setting changes or anything because people are so deeply entrenched in their own bullshit way of playing they fail to consider the entire game, I've done it before myself but at least I can see that now. I wasn't calling for lower staff making radical changes or holding all power on this issue, I wanted more comunication, more staff involvment, more ideas and more view points from people that are not one sided idiots. The fact that 2 staff memebers and long time players have to guess about changes says it all about how things are going here with publics.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: removing X-Radar from javelins has done nothing but cause trouble. As Kolar pointed out, players love the ability to use a bomber, it doesn't matter if the bombs are red, yellow, blue, hot pink or polka-dotted. Removing the X-Radar has NOT reduced the number of teamkills, because frankly most teamkills just come from javelins who lack the ability to aim at and kill ANY enemy ship, visible or not. And as Vehicle pointed out, good javelins were the best roofing solution a team could ask for. Weasels never so much as sniffed the flag when I had X-Radar. Now the terrier shouts "X SPOTTED" and I'm left with a crap shoot. He could be at any of six holes.

Before you say "Well the terrier should say which hole the X is at", consider this. It wasn't the terrier's responsibility to keep the holes clear of X's before, and rightfully so. It isn't fair to the terrier if he has to defend six gaps in the FR while playing dodgeball with 50 enemy jav bombs. With the addition of the warnings and shipchanges for excessive teamkilling, there is no longer an excuse for javelins, at one time the best anti-weasel ships in the game (in the right hands), to be crippled and helpless against the little shits. Basically, if you can't use the javelin, get the fuck out of it. If you can, more power to you, rape those little weasel fucks.

I agree with Kolar (Never thought I'd say that :P), some sort of committee consisting of players who regularly base in pub would be a good idea, even if it's just on a trial basis. Obviously the whining of a few idiots has led to the retarded state that pubs are currently in, so some intelligent players need to give their opinions and action needs to be taken based on those opinions to help pub get back on its feet, because as long as publics are in this condition new players will learn absolutely nothing and we'll be in the midst of an EG-style shitfest.

Go back, Way Back to the old setting.
Possibly,
1. Use the old cloaker settings with a Small cloak ship cuz that cool (mini-cloaker with old settings).
2. Take the Landcaster go back to old settings.
Or Make them so they die easier with the red bullets there almost impossible to kill with a ter, or spider.And there as annyoing as sticking your finger in light socket.
Or Maybe just use old setting but speed the ship up a little, thus thrust or maybe a faster recharge rate. or just add speed .
