One thing I really hate is when people use a racist term, get warned for it, then spend the next half hour in team chat going off at the staffer that warned them about how it wasn't meant to be racist.
Oh, and good on you Tibro

White people have it tough. They have to constantly deal with the problem of being uncomfortable around black people and they have to figure out how to not hire them for jobs, while at the same time not appearing racist and getting sued. This is not very easy nowadays. White people never get the same kind of attention paid to them, like getting pulled over because of their skin color. It's totally unfair that blacks get all the attention from the cops, and it hurts white people's self esteem! They need attention too! Most importantly, white people had to deal with enslaving black people three generations ago. Slaves were not cheap! They were like, $5,000 apiece! You try getting together enough money to own 10 slaves and run a plantation. Not to mention, all the wealth and power white people have managed to consolidate. It's a lot of pressure! I'd like to see black people deal with such a burden as having more power and money than they know what to do with.
In summary, Rascal is right. It's totally unfair that people don't get banned for being racist against white people, when there's already so much a burden to put up with outside the game.
White power!

After being in US business corporate structure for the last several decades, I would say your claim about discrimination is not fully correct. Of course racists are among us all, in every country, every community, every company. But the discrimination laws are clear, easy to understand, easy to implement, and easy to enforce. In my experience, US businesses do not overtly or covertly support or condone racisms. Frankly, the primary attribute that US companies look for are people, whoever they are, that can do the job quicker and cheaper than the next person. It has become a world-economy and 90% of the companies I deal with on a daily basis have employee directories that read like the UN membership list. The perspective that you portray is outdated and was perhaps truer 20 years ago than it is today.

Profiling is a difficult subject. I was once pulled at 6:30AM in my new Integra for no apparent reason. On this particular day, I was not breaking any laws so I was surprised. The cop was a complete jerk-off. As he came up to me he said, “Why don’t you try slowing down and not being so reckless?” I was like, “WTF”? He tells me to turn around and get my hands on the car. As I do this, he calls in on his radio that he “has the guy” and calls for backup. The he asks the radio dispatcher, ‘what color was that car?’? The dispatcher comes back, ‘green’. My car was black. So the cop asks me what I have been doing and where I was going? I told him I was coming into work and gave him the route I had taken. He said, “oh, ok. You can go.” No apology, no nothing. Obviously I had been ‘profiled’, obviously the cop had been wrong, and obviously the cop was a jerk. But so what? What exactly was my damage? Wasted 10 minutes of my time? Pissed me off because he was so lame about it? If a profile fits, isn’t it better to be safe than sorry?

You do realize that the Civil War was fought, and won, many years ago? And that over 1,000,000 people, mostly ‘white’ fought to abolish slavery with well over 250,000 giving their lives for the cause? A large percentage of ‘white’ people alive today have relatives who fought and died for abolishing slavery yet your incorrect sweeping generalization groups us all together as racists.
So, in summary you make a sweeping generalization about sweeping generalizations. How messed up is that? Cutting though the sarcasm, you are trying to make a point and yet end up committing the very ethical violation that you are railing against. Instead of having pre-determined emotional opinion about groups of people, shouldn’t we all be open minded and try to accept that every human has individual strengths and weakness?

For starters, I think you took my post a little too seriously. I thought my wild claims had conveyed my overtly sarcastic tone. You and I have had little interaction with each other, so I don't blame you for not interpreting the message the way I had intended. Furthermore, I was probably so flippant about such a serious subject that I should have been more clear.
Having said that, my point was that the phenomena of white reverse racism comes from a complete loss of perspective by the established majority culture in the US. The white establishment have had years to consolidate their power and wealth, and regardless of the outcome of the Civil War and Emancipation, the South continued to create laws to subjugate their "property" with the K-K-K, Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. This practice effectively forced blacks to remain dependent on wealthy white landowners into the 20th century.
Hell, just looking back at the Civil Rights movement of the 1960's (which was a mere 40 years ago), it was still very clear that regardless that the Civil War ended 140 years ago, racism and subjugation of blacks has continued well into the modern era. Even further proof that fringe elements of the white majority culture continue this policy of open subjugation of blacks are with poicies such as racial profiling (an admitted policy used by some police departments across the nation), the CIA flooding the ghettos with crack in the 1980's (see the award-winning article from the San Jose Mercury News), then making laws that have a much stricter penalty against crack than regular cocaine (see NY's Rockafeller Laws), and the dismantling of affirmative action at many institutions across the nation (see California Governor Pete Wilson and Prop 209). These are all government institutions who are advancing these policies. Essentially, this is institutionalized racism created by the white majority culture.
In summary, there's no fucking way I'm buying this bullshit that white people suffer from revese racism. Don't get me wrong...I believe it happens, but there's no "suffering" that goes on. Not the same kind of suffering that happens to Blacks. Not even close.

I won't speak to the government issues, but I can somewhat speak to the US corporate business attitude.
My opinion is that their is indeed a 'requirement' to dress a certain way, talk a certain way, and act a certain way in a US corporation. But this applies to everyone, not just people of color. In the same way that a black person would feel 'push back' if they wore African dress in the workplace, a white person would feel ‘push back’ if they wore their native garb to work. Same for language and behavior. Everyone has to ‘sell out’ the same amount, the same way. You either walk the walk and talk the talk or you are left behind.
I find that in this day and age that if any person anyone is willing to do this, and contribute with good work ethic, they will be success.
