Let me start off by saying that I'm not a big fan of change and my bias will most likely pervade this entire post. Sorry.
Okay, so I'm playing public for the first time in a few months today (the pure basing public of course) and my team is completely locked out of the flagroom by an onslaught of jav bombs coming from the enemy every two seconds. So I switch from spider to javelin to compensate and hopefully dumb down their numbers. So I do my thing and after a few 2fers the new itty-bitty weasel comes out of one of those holes and used, what I thought to be, a rocket to propel his bullets about twice as fast at me. I dodged, and after a few seconds he did it again and I thought "they get two rockets now?" and then he did it again and I realized he wasn't using any rockets, but rather thrusting and shooting (what I like to the call the "ol' shift-shot"). I managed to survive all three times (three bullets each time, just so you know...level three) and when I prepared to switch to the offensive mode, he cloaked and escaped out of the base. So I, of course, went for my X-Radar button...but oh wait, they took it away! Okay... cool. So I figure he's gone for a bit and shoot another bomb up when ding, he appears, and kills me. Okay, lucky shot, that's all. And then it happened again. And again. And again, until I got up the nerve to switch to terrier and hunt his little ass.
So I go back in base and spot him, charge with a few bullets and he dodges all of them with a bit of thrusting and then, much to my dismay, pulls the ol' shift-shot on me and I'm dead. Once again, cool. I come back once again and pull the same stunt only this time a set hits him, I go in for some more when he somehow has enough energy to shoot at me almost instantaneously after I barraged him with my weak bullets. Awesome. I go for thirds and he makes a mistake and I manage to kill him. Now he comes back, full thrust with his three bullets in my face. Dead. I now wise up to the fact that he's not really using cloak at all (isn't that what it's supposed to be, by the way, a cloaker?) so I change out to warbird.
And I come back up, and try to kill him. But oh wait, he's a fourth the size of my ship and I only have one level three bullet to shoot at him while he has three. Awesome. We spar for a while and then I got bored and frustrated at the newfound power of this weasel. And then I came on here to bitch about it.
So, when did the weasel exactly become better than three of the most commonly-used ships? And why? In the endless task of bringing the weasel up to par with the rest of the fleet, you (the collective staff) have over-powered it. So, um, change it back. Thanks.
P.S. Bear in mind that I don't claim to be the best in any of the aforementioned ships, but I have been around a while and I can hold my own in each of them. While Joe-Newbie probably stumbled on the new weasel a few weeks ago. For the final time, cool.
