i believe ratman ran off of his server wich you needed a regkey he made that had to match your ip range and machine id or modem number or something. many many people tried to use it without his permission but none did

Well that really doesn't have anything to do with my post, he said: "there are a couple zones that when you goto you can only be in spec untill your approved by a mod to play and we all know there are always ER's on", those things you're talking about would again need modifications to the client.
