didn't the offline practice mode of the subspace client do something like that?

i wouldn't think it would be as hard as some of you are saying.

Oh, and as for all the people discussing making bots follow movement patterns, it has been done. A LONG time ago (when I was staff the first time around,) I remember sitting in a private arena watching Mythrandir move one way, and then watch the bot mimic the movement. If anyone could find him, maybe he'd be able to give some insight on the easiest way to design such a bot.

Yea, I thought of that thing too, but then it would always be the same movement. And I don't like to brag, but I gave that idea to Myth. :P

There are already bots (based off of the MervBot core?) that actually move around and shoot at enemies. They aren't very smart; all they will do is try to come directly at you and will not negotiate any walls or rocks etc. They will also make turrets if they can attach to something. So yeah it can be done. They aren't using the TWCore though, so...

Sika's bots do register hits; I didn't realize he had got that working. To me though it doesn't seem like they register EVERY hit? Maybe due to lag, I dunno. Still this could make a pretty fun competetion arena if it was done correctly.

Having a bot mimic movement is actually ridiculously easy because you just mirror a player's position packets. I suppose if you knew it was only going to move in one direction it would be a bit easier than not knowing at all where it was going to be in 5 seconds because you don't have to store all of the weapons until they expire.
