This thread makes me feel like I've stumbled into a preschool where all the kids think they're cool because they're calling each other doodyheads.

Well so if we try to bring up that we are unhappy with our current staff, we become complainers. Is it our fault that we are not satisfied with how this beloved zone is run.

So we should just sitback, like everyone else and let this zone go down the drains. I wont kiss the ass of the staff and say they are doing a good job. I just don't feel they are doing a good job.

It is about making TW a fun atmosphere and for alot of ppl TW has lost its lust. Yesterday I was threatened to be banned in elim for not shooting. I was cauing no trouble, all I did was refuse to shoot anyone. Somehow this was illegal, I was not feeding anyone. I just wanted to not shoot anyone and go for the worst elim record. Then I decided to play tag with product in elim. Is this so bad, Im not ruining anyone elses TW experience. This 2 me is fun, and I care less about my rank. I want the worst elim, and Im a lover not a fighter.

So to end this just relax and let ppl have fun, and maybe 1 day we might have respect for the staff.

Is anyone else fucking sick of kolar defending this broken down zone? I am. Seriously. The staff here is incompetant. Sure, there are a handful of good staffers, but they make up the minority.

Kolar, give it a rest you forum whore. No one cares that you think staff is spotless. Staff is just as infested with kids as any local elementary school. Almost everyone on staff acts like he's got a broomstick in his ass. SEK, you're absolutely right.

It's only flamming bullshit from people who got banned for being the little fucks they are. I'm tired of everyone blamming everything on staff, and the forum population seems to be going that way also. Staff isn't spotless but I don't think anyone here knows how things work in staff to judge them or say they intentionally try to do harm to players or do nothing for them. That is also not what this forum is for.


Why doesn't anyone post something that criticizes staff, I mean if the defense is almost always "I care about the zone" or something like that then why not give some feed back on how to imporve the zone. We're not fucking superior beings here, if you see a problem find a way to fix it. Bitching about it on this forum does nothing. Another thing, people only post about something if and when it becomes a problem, personally for them. Relating the problem back to their personal problem only causes arguments on here, it's not a venting forum and you can't just dump all your problems here and expect the forum kids not to jizz all over it.

Edit: Agreed TK. The major problems in this zone right now have nothing to do with staffers not responding to complaints or calls.

Err.... Most of these "staff suck" threads are created by retards who got warned /banned in the game. You don't get punished, unless you broke a rule. It doesn't matter which rule you broke or, which rule is enforced more. You broke a rule, you pay. Whoever says the zone is dieing is a homocock I find nothing wrong with the zone. If you really did do nothing wrong, and got banned the staff will listen to you. If your story is legit then they will unban you.

Edit: Here's a helpful tip. Read what the Ban message says, and it'll tell you who to "contact" if you did nothing wrong.

Well, telling a staff member to stop replying is hardly the first step towards that, is it? The problems with staff in this zone aren't as big as some people make it out to be, and a lot of the complaints about staff are just people being bitter after staff did it's job correctly. This zone has bigger problems to look at. If the latest complaint is that a staff member is actually responding to these complaints, then I don't know what people want anymore.

People wouldnt get banned if they could have fun flying ships instead. Obviously there are bigger problems. Fix 'em. They won't listen to me, so it's up to you.

You do fucking suck, and you should get the fuck out. Here are the reasons why:
l1 damage being constant
lanc w/ wb recharge
the current weasel (this alone is enough)
burst gib
pubs too small (that is, the only one people play in, also the only one the timed game is active)
none of the ever so helpful zoners actually know anything or just decide that they dont need to help anyone due to their incompetence. Of course, better to be silent and not let him know you're on than to have him pissed at you because you've been playing for 6 months, should know a lot about the game being staff, yet when it comes time for me to broadcast to staff chat, your mind is fucking blank and you're the only one on.

Also there are too many javs in pub tking, sure there are some who get a kill or two, maybe even kill a terr while tking. But the general majority of people in jav in pub tking are those who need to just ?go javs and learn how to play before taking it to where there are yellow ships in a small area trying to hold it without getting dealt needless team radius from a practice shot.

Really though if you just fucking make the goddamn pub bigger I wont be on the forum because I'll be able to play whenever I want instead of waiting for it to go down from 37. I dont see how it could possibly be any sort of a problem to do, unless there's something you don't want to admit to. And oh god the list of things you keep in the dark so you can constantly use the "well non staff players dont know anything about staff so they should shut up". You expect anyone to be civil with an entity so fucking spineless?
Oh wait now I remember, admitting your own people don't know anything about the organization would destroy the illusion that's constantly being put up about staff being so great and effective keepers of the zone.

Well I suggest, neth, before making such a post you wait until whoever has the pride that would be hurt is gone so the information that needs to be known can and things can be settled. But until then, I'll never get any answers, and so you never will and the same things will keep being said with nothing happening, besides of course that lovely grinding sound the zone makes as it slides.

How long have you been playing? Seriously? And Kolar, this is not a personal issue for me. For once I'm not banned. Congratulate me.

Why am I so upset? I think Creager has a pretty good idea. He's been around long enough to remember how things used to be. This zone used to be fun. Without looking back at his post, but trying to remember some things I agree with, here is my list of things that are really fucked up:

1. <ZH> Staffers: They use RoboHelp like it's useful. Guess what: It's not useful at all. Here's an idea: Go the fucking arena and help the player with the question. Stop being lazy asses using !tell, and actually pm the player. Don't give me this "we get so many calls, RoboHelp eases the load" bullshit either. If you'd actually answer half the questions that come in you wouldn't have this load.

Which brings me to Part B of Section 1: Answer the questions! Don't just sit there. Sure, a lot of newbs don't know what's going on, but people like me are not fucking stupid. If you don't know the answer, PM the player with "I don't know, but I'll try to find out for you." If you're playing elim, say "I'm playing elim, let me get with you in a couple of minutes." We know you like to play too, but if you ignore us, that doesn't make us go away.

2. The Weasel: Do I really need to talk about this? The weasel is a catastrophe. Sure, any newb can get in base now, but that's not the way it's supposed to be. What fun is it if anyone can walk into this game from anywhere and ruin your time? Make the newb practice. Cloaking and sneaking in a tiny hole doesn't make anyone good, it only pisses off people who like to base... which is part of why I don't pub. Return the weasel to the way it was in 2001. It wasn't broke... you should have never fixed it.

3. Enforcing pointless rules: Ex: Sir>Elim_Killer's complaint about being warned in elim. Seriously, if he was the last person in, and he was drawing the game out by running, then I'll be the first to say spec him. But not shooting? Who is he hurting? Ratings don't even use average kill any more like they used to. He's not even dragging ratings down. What is he doing? He's having fun. Period. He likes to do something you don't understand. Let it be. Why should be be so eager to ban someone for such a petty offence? If you really want to flex your internet muscles, spec him. That's all that's called for. Anything more is cruel and unusual.

4. I'm already bored with this... but there are many more. I shall write more another day.

And Troll King, the reason I specifically mentioned Kolar is because every one of his "responses" is something along the lines of "you don't know what it's like to be staff. We're doing a great job!" Well seriously, I'm tired of that. Pretending there's not a problem doesn't make it go away either. It's time for suggestions, not defenses. The problems are obvious to everyone who has been playing this zone since back when it was fun.

In closing, you wanted to know what's wrong. I told you what I have problems with, and I submitted what I believe to be very reasonable solutions to a couple of these problems. And I explained my problem with Kolar's responses. I'm sorry I wasn't more clear in my eariler post. Hopefully this will fully address the way I feel.

I think the weasel "problem" is overblown, mainly because it's negative effects are only bad for the pure pubs. You guys might look at it and say "there are too many newbs flying their weasels into the base". If you look at it for pubs in general, someone could turn it around and say "there are more new players going towards the base". Sure, they might be weasels, but from a broader standpoint, getting more people to go to the base is one of the biggest things this zone needs. Others could make a case that weasels are more likely to base than before; the only difference is that your view of what "basing" is differs from their point of view.

The same thing applies to the argument about the arenas being too small. The only arenas where this is a real negative are the pure pubs. Increasing arena sizes might give more people a chance to play in pure pubs, but the effects on regular pubs are at best negligible, and at worst, will make their problems larger. If the ultimate goal is for all pubs to be like the pure pubs, then increasing arenas sizes to let people play is an unnecessary step in that evolution (that is, if all pubs were like pure pubs, there won't be as short a supply to meet demand). A better approach would be to reduce the number of speccers. Another complaint Creager brought up was that there are too many javs (and thus too many TKs). But if arena sizes were raised then the number of teamkilling javs will go up as well. The jav problem needs to be addressed first before we even consider raising arena sizes.
