My first time experience propsing an idea to mod directly/upperstaff

Well despite the fact that i don't agree with some terms on your idea i think you should have first followed the normal procedures... i mean you should have made a twps and get co signers and all the normal stuff... making a proposal like that involves lots of details that cannot be aproached in a 5 min talk with a sysop and he probably was very buzy and has lots of similar ideas coming to him every single day .

About the proposal there are lots of details that might need some work for it to even be accepted... anyway i think you could achieve something similar with the normal ZH's by making "and encouraging" them to play in pub and interacting with the "newcomers" without having the need to create another tag.

First of all, I have to step in and back up DoCk>. He is always willing to converse with people that have reasonable ideas as long as they do it in a civilized manner, which would lead me to believe that you weren't in accordance with one of the two.

Secondly, I don't particularly agree with the idea. If you want to see some constant game tips, just hit ESC+F6. Most people on your team will tell you if you're doing something wrong, and will often advise you a proper course of action. I know that personally if some noob keeps tking me I'll tell them to get into a spider or warbird. If people have specific questions, that is what ?help and ZH's are for. I can already imagine a probable scenario:

Seeing as how you've already considered what name you would have with this tag you've come up with, it appears that you are just trying to find a way to get into staff and say "Hay! Look at me everyone, I'm a cool guy!!" when in reality you're just a tool. The only reason these other people seem to be supporting you is to they can get on THEIR soapboxes about how the staff sucks and never gives people a chance to suggest things. Notice how most of the points are not backing up the idea itself but saying how other people shouldn't be critical of the idea, which they have every right to be. If it's such a great idea it should be able to stand up against a lot of criticism.

Is the situation perfect? No. However, this is a poor solution and should not be used to pick a fight against staff because it's not likely to succeed. Like Dr. Foreman said on the TV Show 'House', "If you really want to get whitey, be one of the few black men to live long enough to collect social security." Obviously there is no direct or literal wisdom to be pulled from this, but hopefully a few smart people will understand the deeper meaning behind it.

Finally, you should've used TWPS but there's probably no chance of that working now because you botched it by annoying DoCk> and starting this thread.

PS. Flame me all you want. I'm not part of staff, I'm not one who sings praise of the staff system here, and frankly I just don't care what you say about me because its probably a lot less thought out.

And secondly, practise what you preach. I found this post to be much more offensive and "flaming" than PaulOakenfeld's post which prompted you to call him "another flamer ROFL". How can you chastise people for flaming when you're the one dropping f-bombs and insults left and right?

If Last Rites displayed the same kind of approach when he spoke to Dock that you have in the last few posts, then PaulO was right and he DID deserve the response he received.

And "GUTS" has little to do with this thread. A lot of the people criticizing Last Rites have made similar complaints about staff too. They just think that he's making too much of this incident, and I agree. Call me a flamer and a bastard for that if you like, but that'd be much worse than what Dock said to him.

The people are obviously giving him a hard time. If you are to read carefully, you can tell that the staff literally, ganged up on the guy. Troll, I hope you have notcied last rites said he said only %10 of what dock had given him, while 90% was hidden from others to see. How do you not know that dock really did give him bad things to decide his replies upon?

Btw, a player in TW is like a customer at a store. And well, hate it or not, the custmor is always right, which is a true, proven given fact.

IMO tags are useless, anyone can make a tag, the power doesnt come in the tag lol, only reason i think they still use them is just to distinguish a player from a staffer since there are so many ppl playing the game

I jsut needed to be distinguished, not look like a cool guy with power. Thanks for the rather simple explanation, but half these people don't seem to understand. If he posted only 10% of what Dock said, you might have a point if he didn't post less than 10% of what he himself had probably said. Again, it would probably help his case if he did post what he said to Dock, but since he didn't, it doesn't matter if he only posted 10% of what Dock said. That's still more than what he admitted to saying himself. How do I not know if Dock gave him a hard time? How do I know if Last Rites didn't say anything that deserved it? I don't know enough to say either way. All I have to go by is what is said in this thread, and frankly, Cavalry's support has been hurting more than helping. As immature as Cavalry has been, he's not helping his cause if he's saying and doing stuff that's worse than what he's accusing others of.

The analogy about the customer being right is flawed. Last Rite wasn't acting from the perspective of a customer, not because he isn't paying anything, but because he was proposing an idea to change the zone. That's not acting in the role of a customer but acting in the role of an industry analyst. A closer analogy to what went on here is Last Rite acting as a lobbyist and going up to the President. That's not how it should be done, especially with the TWPS available. If a lobbyist approached the President the way Last Rites did, the President and his Secret Service would have done what Dock et al did.
