What has been happening this past week was beyond all comprehension: at first, i just had 400 ms all day and normal (120 ms) pings in the evening, so it was not all that bad. Now, I get up to 700 ms and ridiculous ploss figures, so what I'm asking of any other laggy Europeans, please post in here your trace and let's finally find out if there are any common denominators (i.e. a faulty Hopone router, which I suspect is the case), or post what YOU think is causing us all to freak out. I'm almost 100% positive it isn't the TW server, since Weaver gets a normal 100 ping when almost the entire rest of the squad screams from lag pain.

edit: added trace; note the constant high ping at ge8-0.core1.dca2.hopone.net, which i suppose to be the source of all evil. And the ploss numbers are exaggerated for some unknown reason, in-game ploss is usually at .1

No, your lag is not from hopone. As Dock> once wrote:

Please DO NOT WORRY if you see 99.x% packetloss coming from hopone routers! This is COMPLETELY NORMAL!

All this means is the router has decided not to return your ping. It does not mean your packets are not being transmitted through to the destination.

10pm my time (3pm est) I'll have over 7% ploss, and ridiculous ms lag.

No tahkis, I was not talking about packet loss at all (not how I point out ploss is fine despite the weird trace numbers). What I am trying to find out is where the hell the high ping for most Euros is coming from. Since I was always, 24/7, at 120-140ms, and now all of a sudden that went up to almost 700 over the day (meaning from 3am till 3 or 4 pm EST). Note also my 120 ping until it comes to that 3rd-last hopone router, where it gains another 100ms, and constant. What this means, the first 12 hops are correct and as usual, whereas the 13th and from there on never were so horrendously bad.

I havnt had too much trouble with lag, from England. Vote YES to Server move to Europe, seeing as i think that there are more non-noob Europeans that play the game. There are too many american Pubbers!!
