Where's the basing?

I've been saying that base should be automated for a long time.
There's nothing to it:

• As you enter the arena, you are automatically notplaying.
• You move yourself to playing freq as an indication to the bot that you are not idle.
• Game begins when 12 or more players are on playing freq.
• Bot assigns two random caps from those on playing freq.
• If no player selections are made within maybe 3 minutes, bot reassigns cap.
• When the game ends, everyone is set back to notplaying freq and we begin again.

The same method can be applied to both wbduel and javduel.

As for pub, I think it's pefectly fine as it is. Small weasels add to the challenge of defending the flag. I actually enjoy purepubs tenfold over the cramfest that is ?go base. More ship variety and better, longer flag battles.

But instead of a three minute timeout, a one minute timeout where the bot says you have been randomly chosen to cap and asks if you are awake. Respond with :yes. The bot asks if you know how to cap. Anything but another :yes chooses different random cap. If you respond yes matchbot reminds you about :!help, wishes you luck, and away we go.

The first cap to yes 2 times gets first pick. No one ever mentions the huge advantage 1st cap gets but I think it's significant.

bot chooses 3 random pairs of caps and allows players to vote for 1 min, most voted pair become caps.

but yeah i really like the idea of having people put themselves into ready.
