i played pub a lot, started out with the name braincandle, but i was really excited about getting new names, at that point they reset pretty often. at that point either you pubbed or you played elim. i never really joined any pub squads, except when one guy called ethrothein II or something, who was on sk8, asked me if i wanted to join a squad. i figured he was asking me to join sk8 so i said yes, and then he was like "alright, the squad is called SniperZ, and the password is 'blah blah.'" i had no reason to leave it really, though, so i stayed on that for a while until i got on some squad called defeat, which led me to pure luck (with nockm, schnares), which tiny convinced me to leave for -kaos- because i didnt know tiny was an idiot about squads. after -kaos- i wasnt a "newbie" i dont think, until i left for mexico for a semester a couple years later, and came back and was just terrible at subspace from then on out.
